Life just moves a little slower

When you’re under a Polar Onslaught

Sorry about no posting from me yesterday. We were being bombarded with warnings of another storm like the one a couple years back that took the electrical grid down for a week, so I was out getting the supplies topped off (petrol, propane, beer, etc.).

Well, the winds didn’t come, unless you count the after effects of the nachos I had for lunch, but we did get another five inches or so of snow.

The dogs are questioning if the new house will always be like this. They don’t like the top half-inch of the snow crunching and then the bottom four or five being slippery.

And yes, I do consider beer an essential piece of holin’ up equipment. You don’t need to refrigerate it, just stick it out in the snow. But do remember not to misplace your bottle opener.

As for my selection

Snow Cap Ale – Pyramid Ale House – Seattle, WA

Glacier Pilot Winter Warmer – Lang Creek Brewery – Marion, MT

Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale – Michelob Brewing Co. – St. Louis, MO

2 Below Ale – New Belgium Brewing – Ft. Collins, CO

Dick’s Double Diamond Winter Ale – Dick’s Brewing Co. – Centralia, WA Sharp eyes will notice that this one is empty. This is one I’ve had before and I just couldn’t hold off on this one having just grilled up one of my SuperBurgers (w/some sliced ham and hard fried egg). Dick’s also has a Barley Wine Ale but the store was out.

And, of course, another bottle of Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale (aka: The Best Beer in the World). Even if I have a full case I always pick up a spare.

These are just six of the reason why I love winter best.

I’m a huge 2 below fan but can’t find any on the east coast.

One of these days I need to make it down to 99 Bottles. I really want to try the Oaked Arrogant Bastard, but nobody around here seems to carry it.

What do you think of the 2 Below? I’ve never been a huge fan of New Belgium’s brews, they all seem to taste a bit off.

    Purty! I miss snow.

BTW, Derek has dibs on your room at Trib’s. 🙂

I haven’t tried the 2 Below as of yet. I’ll move it up on the list and email you know when I do.

OAB is great stuff. Even though I believe it is worth the trip, you should go through their list of in stock beers and make up a “want” list. They’ve got empty six packs and cases there for folks to fill up randomly.

Let me know when you do make the trip. I’m always up for a 99 Bottles run (which really isn’t saying much as I’m only 4 miles away).
