Today’s distraction:
Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, were arrested today by FBI agents on federal corruption charges.
The rightosphere will go nuts, make attempts to tie this to Obama in some fashion and the important story will be passed over.
That story, is this:
Obama is trying to buy his way to a 60 seat majority in the Senate.
RINO extraordinaire, Olympia Snowe (R-Democrat), is demanding Obama not only recreate the Small Business Administration, but that he make it a Cabinet-level position. She is, of course, volunteering to head this new department.
And now rumor has it that Obama’s people are talking to her people.
The Governor of Snowe’s home state of Maine is a Democrat, who would appoint her replacement. With this and the probability of serious hi jinx in Minnesota, the yacht-like win of Chambliss could easily turn out to be just a dingy.
She is a very crappy Republican, who might as well be a Democrat. But she doesn’t have any known scandals, and she could very well be the firewall to a Demo majority.
Roadapple sandwich or cowpie pancakes. Take your pick.
Yeah, life can suck sometimes.
I found this part of the Blago story interesting:
‘The FBI affidavit said Blagojevich had been told by an adviser “the president-elect can get Rod Blagojevich’s wife on paid corporate boards in exchange for naming the president-elect’s pick to the Senate.”‘
Which adviser? How did the adviser know? If the adviser sings….

Wouldn’t the same Constitutional clause that currently prohibits Hillary from becoming Secretary of State prevent Snowe from becoming head of the SBA?
Oh, that’s right, it’s being ignored for Clinton so I’m sure they’ll ignore it for anyone else Obie wants…
