I could have told you that

But I guess that having the percentages from Rasmussen makes it official

During his acceptance speech last night at the Republican National Convention in Minnesota, John McCain told the audience, “We believe in a strong defense, work, faith, service, a culture of life, personal responsibility, the rule of law, and judges who dispense justice impartially and don’t legislate from the bench.” Most American voters (60%) agrees and says the Supreme Court should make decisions based on what is written in the constitution, while 30% say rulings should be guided on the judge’s sense of fairness and justice. The number who agree with McCain is up from 55% in August.

While 82% of voters who support McCain believe the justices should rule on what is in the Constitution, just 29% of Barack Obama’s supporters agree. Just 11% of McCain supporters say judges should rule based on the judge’s sense of fairness, while nearly half (49%) of Obama supporters agree.

Just listening to liberals on a daily basis would have let any sane person know that they don’t respect the ideals the Constitution lays out, and that they would rather instead rally against common sense to inflict their sense of “Fairness” on the population.

Which is how you get bigoted broads like Pittsburgh City Councilwoman, Tonya Payne

Pittsburgh City Council gave its first approval today to legislation requiring that anyone report a lost or stolen firearm report that within 24 hours or potentially face a $500 fine.

The 6-1 vote, with two abstentions, sets up a final vote likely next week, which would send the legislation to Mayor Luke Ravenstahl for his signature or veto, and then potentially to the courts, where similar measures have been challenged.

“Who really cares about it being unconstitutional?” said Councilwoman Tonya Payne, a supporter. “This is what’s right to do, and if this means that we have to go out and have a court battle, then that’s fine … We have plenty of dead bodies coming up in our streets every single day, and that is unacceptable.”

What is unacceptable is that she believes the right thing to do to fight her city’s gang warfare dilemma is to waste taxpayer dollars to fight a losing court battle to uphold a law that will only harm law abiding citizens.

How about an automatic 20-year sentence for getting caught with a stolen firearm? Wouldn’t a law that actually targets criminals make more sense?

Why yes, it would. But it would mean actually doing something right instead of just doing something.
