Shopping in a Winter Punkerland

There was a gang fight at a local mall over the weekend that involved a firearm.

It was “Breaking News” for the entire night Saturday and most of the day Sunday as well.

It started out as a fistfight between over a dozen “youths” and then one got cowardly and pulled a pistol and started firing killing one and seriously wounded another.

The local media were playing out as a “rampage shooting” for the first part of Saturday evening, even though everything they were saying in Mediaspeak would have told 12 year old it was gang related.

Then Sunday morning they finally played the footage, taken the night before, of one of the dead gang member’s friends stating that he had only been out of jail for 24 to 36 hours and that the wounded “youth” was due in court on Monday to be brought up on burglary charges. Oddly enough, or most likely not, this footage turned out to be an edit of the “he was turning his life around” spiel from the friend we were made to sit through repeatedly Saturday night. There was, of course, no word about any of the other little angels involved.

The police searched the mall and checked out everyone inside but were unable to find the coward, but they have his friends either in custody or on a short leash so hopefully they will get is punk ass shortly. I would advise them to drag a magnet down the Duwamish for the pistol.
