Action Alert

Or whatever they’re calling these things these days

Maybe “A Call to Arms” would be more appropriate in this case?

City of Seattle Mayoral Disgrace, Greg Nickels, is pushing ahead with his plan to toss Washington State Preemption Law, and the letter he received from the Washington SoS on the subject, into the trash can and forcing his ban on law abiding citizens legally carry a concealed pistol down the throats of the residents of his city.

His office has scheduled a public hearing for December 15th at 1830
(with sign in happening at 1730) at the Seattle City Hall in the Bertha Knight Landes Room.

While I would like to take the easy way out and declare this “hearing” him just going through the motions, I am going to do everything I can to be able to attend. I’ve already set the wheels in motion to get time off from work that Monday evening.

Off the top of my head, the only decent parking at that time of day would be available on the Yesler St. overpass, on Terrace St, and possibly even in City Hall Park. Take extra caution around the vagrants hanging out in said park. They’ve been known to be insane and/or pushy panhandlers. There is also a parking lot on the northwest corner of Cherry St and 4th Ave, but I’m not sure if it requires a permit. I’ll run through the area between now and then to see if I can find any more.

I’ll also try and find out the current situation for CCW holders entering City Hall. Until then, consider yourself disarmed.

More when I get it.

  1. Also, is it open to anyone, or just Seattle residents?
