The Soundboard: Fists of Curry Edition

I know what you’re saying to yourself; “Kid, you play some decent tunage on the Soundboard, but what I am looking for is some funky Bollywood movie soundtrack music

Well here you go:

The Good, The Bad and The Chutney

This track is from the album “Bombay the Hard Way. A guy calling himself ‘Dan the Automator’ has taken a number of soundtracks from Bollywood* gangster/action movies and edited them into something quite kewl. There are even some vox lines added to some of the tunes to give them some added punch. All in all, I gave this album 8 out of 10 ‘Hell Yeahs!’ on the first spin and I pull it off the shelf every couple of months or so.

I know there are more than a few albums like this out there, so if you like it let me know and I’ll try to get a list of them together.

*Bollywood is India’s version of Hollywood, hence the name.

UPDATE – Doh! The song link works now.

Not up on the current tunes, but when I was there the big hit was Sholay, and the song Mehbooba O Mehbooba, and from the film Hare Ram Hare Krishna you could still hear the song Dum Maro Dum going on (or off) in the bazzar, sometimes little kids would point at us and say, “Dum maro dum!”
