“Blue Wave” Gone Wild

Thankfully, they’re keeping their clothes on.

Here are just some of the bills that that new majority Washington State Democrats are pushing in the state legislative houses, from the Washington House Republicans

Democrats (HEART) Felons:

House Bill 1003 – Free condoms for prisoners
House Bill 1473 – Allowing convicted felons to vote
House Bill 1874 – Allowing felons back into the community after serving only half their time
House Bill 2069 – Another early release bill for felons

Redistribution of Wealth – Hillary Style!:

House Bill 2094 – “Pay or Play” government-run health care
House Joint Memorial 4005 – Government-run universal health care

Because Phil makes too much money:

House Bill 2138 – Automatic, annual gas tax increases
House Bill 2309 – Eliminates the 1 percent property tax limit passed by the people
Senate Bill 5150 – Enacting a state income tax

Guns make good people turn bad:

House Bill 1014 – Regulates storage of firearms
House Bill 1026 – Regulates firearms sales at gun shows and events

We get campaign contributions from unions:

House Bill 2079 – Agency shop fees (Allowing unions to use non-member dues on political activities without permission. Attempts to do an end-run around the pending U.S. Supreme Court decision on Washington Education Association dues.)

Republicans can outspend our candidates:

House Bill 1186 – Public funding of judicial races
House Bill 1360 – Requiring taxpayer funded campaigns

We hate the Citizen’s Initiative Process:

House Bill 2018 – Requiring licensing of paid signature gatherers
House Bill 2019 – More regulations on paid signature gatherers

And those are just the ignorant bills. Check these out,

Forbidden Fruit:

House Bill 1040 – Prohibits collecting and selling of huckleberries without a license (Tribal members are exempt). Next, it’ll be the people who stop and pick blackberries along the roadside in the Auburn/Sumner valley.

I notice that the Shroom-Pickers, who have turned violent over territory in recent years, aren’t being legislated against.

Fuck your Merry-Ho-Ho:

House Bill 1524 – Outlawing incandescent Christmas lights

LED lights only. Washington State Democrats – We’ve got the time to make your Christmas even more expensive.

And last but not least, the most offensive bill of all,

We support the troops. No, really, we do. Stop laughing!:

House Joint Memorial 4004 – Calling for no escalation in Iraq.

They’re using their power as elected representatives to say that Washington State doesn’t support Operation Iraqi Freedom.

And then they wonder why people are leaving the state.

Count Any Vote: 2007 – Part 2

In last week’s post about purging the Washington Voter Rolls of over 176,000 names. I also wrote about the local left’s attempt to try and say that since there was only one case of prosecuted voter fraud, that the purging of so many names wasn’t all that significant.

They were wrong then and they are wrong once again.

Potential fraud feared in drive to sign up voters

Hundreds of voter-registration cards submitted as part of a drive to sign up low-income and minority voters may have been forged by paid canvassers, a King County election official said Thursday.

Problems were found with many of the 1,829 forms within a day after they were received from ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, whose canvassers have been under investigation in some other states for possible registration fraud.

“When we opened the box we very quickly noticed there were hundreds of forms where the handwriting was the same,” said election spokeswoman Bobbie Egan. “We were able to see very quickly and clearly there appears to be evidence of possible forgery.”

An election worker called the voters’ phone numbers listed on 400 of the registration cards — and found that only two were correct, Egan said. Those two people said they hadn’t filled out registration forms during the drive last fall.

Officials have sent letters asking ACORN-registered voters for more information, Egan said, and, “a vast majority are coming back as undeliverable.”

Hyper-leftist registration groups probably using a phone book to sign up new voters gets no press on the local left sites. Only Stephan Sharkansky of the local Sound Politics blog was willing to talk about this when the story broke last Friday.

But that’s not all!

The Shark also has the pdf file showing that the Jefferson County Prosecutor is looking into charges against a prominent Dem couple, Todd and Rebekah McGuire, for possibly double voting.

I think we can carefully conclude that the local left-blogger’s rate of fraud (.00004) is down the drain.

Just who are they voting for over there

Castle Doctrine fails in, of all places, Montana!

House reverses itself on right to brandish guns

The House, under pressure from law enforcement groups, reversed itself on a proposed law that would let residents brandish a firearm if they felt threatened.

The House rejected the measure on a 50-48 vote Friday, a week after first endorsing it on a 57-43 vote.

The proposal also would have clarified law to specify that gun owners don’t have to retreat from a would-be assailant before shooting in self defense.

Critics argued that it would give criminals new legal loopholes and make the streets more dangerous for police.

Rep. Brady Wiseman, D-Bozeman, accused Republican backers of caving to the gun lobby. “You Republicans are playing with a devil’s game here,” Wiseman said. “This bill will let killers go free. Have no mistake about it.”

The bill was supported by gun rights groups who have pushed the legislation, often called a “no-retreat” law, in other states.

After it was endorsed last week in the House, it was sent back to committee for adjustments, in an attempt to ease the fears of the law enforcement community. One new provision would have clarified that a gun owner could not brandish a weapon at a police officer.

First off, a Democrat in Bozeman? Must be the Californian section of town voting for that jackass.

Secondly, you’d think that it is already illegal to brandish a firearm at a police officer.

Lastly, dammit, Idaho is looking better all the time.

They Speak the Truth!

By now I’m sure you’ve all heard about the brouhaha up here in the Seattle area caused by the canine boutique operating under the name “High Maintenance Bitch” .

Let me tell you a little bit about the neighborhood where the business resides and then tell you the truth about why some of the locals there are up in arms about it.

Wallingford is a neighborhood that resides between the hyper-liberal Universitat of Washington and the uber-liberal Fremont neighborhood (the one that proudly sports a statue of Lenin).

Wallingford likes to think of itself as “activist-lite”. They go to the rallies, but they’re not members of the pseudo-anarchist “BlackBloc”. The majority of it’s typical residents attempt to live like their house is a bungalo, even though the previous occupants of the homes raised a generation of baby-boomers in them. The median home price there is hovering around $500K and most of them look like a bad “Trading Spaces” episode on the inside.

Vehicles will vary between the standard VW Microbus to the newest Subaru/Saab wagon on the market. Organic food stores are all you’ll find there. If you want some Oscar Meyer, you’re going to have to skip on over to the Ballard Safeway. But by the looks of the locals when they hit the jogging trails, no one is eating Oscar Meyer.

If I remember correctly, the story about the couple using the “stuff” from their “dry toilet” to compost with came out of Wallingford.

The reason why this store so offends the women of the neighborhood is that they see the sign and think that it is describing them. It offends the men because they haven’t had any meat based protein in so long that they’re brains have turned to mush and they’ll repeat anything their women tell them.

Just thought you might like to know.

I’m so glad

That the “Republican Culture of Corruption” is far behind us

Remember when Republicans ran Congress and everybody was so corrupt and then the midterms happened and the Democrats swept in with a bold plan to have ethics and all that? Well, they were just kidding.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D) has a great vacation planned for May: He’s going to a fancy golf & beach resort in Puerto Rico where people get “sensually awakened.” And he’s taking a planeload of lobbyists … enough to fill 137 luxury hotel suites. Doesn’t that sound nice?

But unlike Tom DeLay’s unethical golf trip to Scotland with Jack Abramoff, Steny’s seaside lobbyist orgy is completely okay because the lobbyists aren’t paying Hoyer himself — they’re paying Hoyer’s PAC.

Just like good capitalists, at least the Repubs cut out the middleman.

Gore Admits That It’s All A Bunch Of Crap

No, not during the Academy Awards the other night. But since his movie won for best documentary, I thought it might be appropriate to remind everyone of something I transcribed back in June 2006 on my lunch hour while watching Charlie Rose interview Al Gore:

CHARLIE ROSE: But are you saying, based on what you just said, that, in fact, some of the best scientists you talk to

VICE PRESIDENT GORE: Yeah.

CHARLIE ROSE: — uh, step forward to you and say, “this [catastrophic human-induced global warming] is what I believe,”

VICE PRESIDENT GORE: Yeah.

CHARLIE ROSE: “and this is what I think is the reality,”

VICE PRESIDENT GORE: Yes.

CHARLIE ROSE: “but we can’t quite prove it yet to the rest of the scientific community.”

VICE PRESIDENT GORE: That’s right.

CHARLIE ROSE: That’s what they’re saying.

VICE PRESIDENT GORE: Yeah. But science thrives on uncertainty, by its nature….”

“Science thrives on uncertainty?!!” I just about choked on my sandwich.

By Ourselves, For Ourselves: Part 3

Well, hello there!

My apologies for taking some time between installments. I figured that I had left you with $200-$1000 in stuff to get taken care of in the Part 1, Part 2, Part 2.1 and Part 2.11, so we could take a while and get caught up. Also, in the time since I wrote the original Part 3, I have moved and had to make my new residence fit in to the post. This caused me to re-examine and then re-re-examine my plans, and that takes a bit of time.

For those new to this series, I started writing it because 1. I think that every level of the government (local, state and federal) is doing a pretty crappy job in “protecting us” against terror attacks, and 2. Is not prepared to cover our asses during and after even a small sized natural disaster.

Which is good, because I do not believe that I would like to live in a place where the government had that much control over the movements and actions of the people.

I wrote the original series before Hurricane Katrina and only had my above mentioned beliefs fulfilled.

And lastly, I absolutely believe that Americans do things best when they do things by themselves and for themselves, hence the title.

It would probably be best for newcomers to start at Part 1 before going on. Make sure you read the comments sections. I am only one guy and, while I would like to be able to think of everything, I can’t, and there are some good ideas there too.

Anyway, today we’re going to talk about putting up a protective perimeter around your shelter (AKA: your house) in times of trouble.

We’re going to stick with the same scenario as in the last posts: Multiple small to medium scale terrorist attacks in and around your home and/or a moderate sized natural disaster (earthquake, flood, hurricane, etc) has knocked out power and water and killed/injured a number of first responders or has otherwise kept them from restoring normality.

You are hunkered down in your home with your family and are waiting out the storm until order and facilities are restored. You have read the previous sections and are equipped with enough food, water and armaments to make it for a month or so.

I’ve chosen for us to stay at home because moving you and yours and all the stuff necessary to stay alive is both difficult and dangerous. Roads blocked/cut-off and having to deal with the unprepared masses makes staying home (so long as there is a home) your best bet.

Also, as I mentioned at the end of Part 2, the government is only going to help you if the terms are of their choosing. This will mean leaving all food, water, personal items and weaponry behind for the looters. I like my stuff and I dislike sleeping in a gymnasium or temproary camp. I’ll wait it out, TYVM.

We’re going to go about ten to fifteen days into the problem and there are lightly armed gangs of approximately ten people or so who are hungry and thirsty running about, going from house to house in your neighborhood looking for food and victims.

They are mostly on foot and hungry enough to try and break down your door. You have tried to stay low key, but they’ve figured out that there is someone there because the doors and windows are shut. Also, at least one of these gangs have managed to keep/get a car up and running and are willing to use it as a breaching ram.

Plausible scenario, agreed? OK then, here we go.

The Rant

This piece from a currently serving member of the United States Armed Services was forwarded to me by a trusted source known to him. I’d give his/her name, but my source says that that may be a bad idea. The writer is part “The Surge” soon to be deploying to Iraq.

It is a week old, but I think it still holds its value well. The writers words will be in italics to diferentiate them.

So here we go:

This one is going to be short. I am pretty busy getting things ready to re-deploy. Hope you enjoy it.

I was watching FOX News the other morning and there was a debate going on between Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes. Seriously, I have no idea how Sean can sit next to that Beevis (or is it Butthead) looking idiot. I mean Colmes is the biggest idiot I have seen since the last time they had the Mayor of New Orleans on TV. But I digress.

It seems the DNC recently opened their winter conference and can you guess who gave the invocation? Give up? It was a Sunni Imam who supports Hezbollah. Yep, this idiot lives in America, and from that statement we can ASSUME he even uses toilet paper as opposed to wiping his ass with his bare left hand. This guy HATES America. In his opening “prayer” he called the United States an, “aggressor nation”. Was there outrage from the Democrats? No. They APPLAUDED him. These are the people who are running both houses of Congress and are trying to take the White House in 2008. God help us if these surrender monkeys win.

This just in from our new Speaker of the House of Representatives:

Pelosi was on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer last night, and Jim Lehrer said, “Ms. Pelosi, what would your position be if in fact the Petraeus plan worked?” What if it actually worked, the Baghdad security plan? (THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO DEPLOYING 21,500 MORE U.S. TROOPS TO BAGHDAD)

PELOSI: I pray that it does. (Liar. Failure gives you political clout with all of the loonies on the left who WANT us to lose) But the fact is we know that it would increase the odds of it working if there were some sincere efforts to engage the other countries in the region in the diplomatic solutions (We tried diplomacy for 12 years….Muslims understand POWER. Besides we don’t need the French) that are necessary to stabilize the region, and do the political work, do the political work. That is to say, amend the constitution, include the Sunnis and others into the civic life of Iraq. That’s where you go. You don’t go into ethnic cleansing of neighborhoods and say, “Now we’re going to referee.”

Can you believe that? Ethnic Cleansing? This woman has had one too many BOTOX injections. I think they missed her face and caught her in the brain. First we had John Kerry saying we were going into houses in the middle of the night and “terrorizing” innocent Iraqi’s. Then, John Kerry called those of us in the Military uneducated and stupid. Now we have the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, the third person in line for the Presidency accusing us of ethnic cleansing.

Where do these people get this stuff? The unfortunate thing is people actually believe this shit. Enough believed it that we lost control of the House and Senate. Hopefully voters will remember when the 2008 elections come around.

Why are these people angry all the time? I am tired of hearing about how Murtha was a Marine. I thank him for his service to our great nation but would respectfully ask him to sit down and shut the F**K up!!!

From the AP:

WASHINGTON —  A powerful Democrat and Iraq war foe said he intends to introduce legislation in the coming weeks that would effectively end President Bush’s plans to send 21,500 more troops into Iraq by setting limits on which troops can be sent. (Murtha wants us to lose….plain and simple)

Using an unusual medium – a recorded interview posted on the Internet – Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said his bill would prevent troops from being sent back to Iraq too soon or too poorly equipped. Troops being sent back to Iraq for another tour would have to stay in the United States at least one year before being redeployed. The bill would also end “stop-loss” policies by preventing the president from retaining troops in Iraq after their enlistments expire.

Murtha, who is chairman of the defense subcommittee to the House Appropriations Committee, said he is formulating legislation with teeth because he doesn’t think Bush’s plan to send more troops to Baghdad and al Anbar province would accomplish the goals of bringing peace to the country or returning troops home sooner.

The Bush administration “won’t be able to continue. They won’t be able to do the deployment. They won’t have the equipment. They don’t have the training and they won’t be able to do the work,” Murtha said in the post on the Democrat-friendly Web site MoveCongress.org. “This vote will limit the options of the president and should stop this surge.”

So in a nut-shell this idiot wants to keep us from winning. If we have idiots like this running the show much longer, Canada could invade us…and win. Never mind that we are faced with a tough, determined enemy who would love to destroy or country. The goal of these terrorists is to live in a Muslim theocracy. There is no negotiation with these animals. They understand power and must be overjoyed seeing our President belittled and mocked in the press. They used to call what is going on in our Congress, “Giving aid and comfort to the enemy”. Now it’s just another way to B.S. the American people and get votes.

We Remember, Do They?

Hard to tell sometimes given the noises coming out of Congress these days.

Our serving men and women certainly do. Thanks to the Specialty Pistols board, where a member posted this pic from his friend whose nephew’s serving in Iraq:

We Remember.jpg

Didn’t see it mentioned in the media, but the flag-raising on Iwo Jima was 62 years ago last Friday. Anarchangel remembered.

And now that the Oscar silly season’s over, if you haven’t seen Flags of our Fathers, do so. Best movie of 2006, IMHO.
