Starting the day well

Was just out in the garage doing some cleaning/clearing and found 280rnds of 7.62×51 Aussie ball ammo that I had previously forgotten.

I could use some more luck like that.

Cleaning Day

Just going through some old links and found a few videos that may be of interest.

Master of Muppets

Yes, it is quite probably exactly what you’re thinking. And funny too.

———-

This is a mash-up of Star Wars Ep. III and that one scene in the kevin Smith movie, Clerks.

Even funnier that the above video and should be kept far away from prudes and children. Wait for the arrival of Obi Wan.

You were warned.

———-

This video should be shown to children, though the person speaking should be allowed no where near them

Have a nice day.

Debatable

Not that most of the local RNS regulars will need to see Rossi hand Gregoire her political ass live on TV to vote for him, but the League of Women Voters, Fisher Communications and the Seattle PI are hosting a debate between the two tonight at 2100 on KOMO (aka: Channel 04).

I’ll be tuning in, if only to annoy The Wife (tomorrow night she’ll have every TV in the house on whatever channel is hosting the Emmy Awards and I’ll be cleaning guns or something to try and get away from it).

A Question

This is mostly for the head soakers who stopped by from Oliver Willis’ (Occupation: Toole) place yesterday, but anyone can play along.

I’m not making $250K a year yet, but let’s say that I am. Biden says explicitly that he and Obama want to put the money he takes from those making over $250K “back” into the hands of “working class people”.

I’m guessing that most, if not all, of you consider yourselves the “Working Class People” Biden was talking about.

So here is the question: What, exactly, have you done to deserve my money?

I worked for it. Doesn’t that make me “Working Class”?

Just because someone decided that my job skills were worth that amount and they are compensating me with a regular payment equaling over the dollar amount Obama and Biden chose, doesn’t mean that I get to put on special boots and step out of “The Working Class”.

Being able to suck in oxygen does not qualify you to my money. If you were to do what the government does and point a gun at me while attempting to take it, I would be legally justified in defending myself.

That your dick works and your chosen female childbearer also has functional reproductive organs does not qualify you for my money. Especially if you two have proven that you cannot do the necessary mathematics beforehand that would have shown you your inability to provide for your offspring.

That you have a severe enough lack of job skills that you cannot provide for yourself also does not qualify you to my money.

So now with these items out of the way, I am at a complete loss as to what, exactly, you have done to deserve the money I worked for.

Remember, we’re not discussing the sick or the disabled here. Biden specifically said that just because someone does not make the same amount of money as I, that they are deserving of money that I earned from working.

Even though you were pissed off at Chrysler for discontinuing the Plymouth line and there would never be a Hemi Cuda, you bought a Dodge Challenger.

Consider your problems solved.

When Chrysler gave its Plymouth brand the axe, many storied name-plates were orphaned — none of them more legendary than the Hemi ‘Cuda. As the Mopar brand began teasing the world with its pony car revival, otherwise known as the Dodge Challenger, a great many fans of the classic Barracuda were left wishing that their childhood dreams of driving off the showroom floor in a brand new Hemi-powered Plymouth muscle car could finally be fulfilled. And so they might. HXC Performance is currently hard at work designing a retrofit kit that would transform the Dodge Challenger into a proper Plymouth ‘Cuda. Many aficionado’s believe that the 1971 ‘Cuda was the best looking year, and it’s on this model that HXC chose to base its conversion. Included is a new grille, fender “gills” (which were only used in ’71), Shaker hood, tail lights and a new rear valance.

To up the performance ante of the standard HEMI-powered R/T model, a Brembo brake package and suspension upgrade will also be included, as will a few engine option packages that can bump the power up to 475 horsepower. Mustang and Camaro owners may now have one more reason to keep an eye on their rear-view mirrors, mimicking countless scenes from the muscle car glory years of the early ’70s.

Hit the link for pics and info.

Speaking of which, it seems that the BBC’s Top Gear boys are in Reno, NV testing not just a Hemi Challenger, but also a Corvette ZR-1 and a Cadillac CTS-V. Why couldn’t they have waited a couple more weeks when we’d be there for the Gun Blogger Rondezvous?

And lastly, am I still the only one who thinks that the newest incarnation of the Chevy Camaro is ass-ugly? It may just be that it doesn’t look good in silver (or blue, or red or yellow), but hit that link and gaze at the pics and tell me how that is an attractive car.

Epic Stoopid

So yesterday, Joe Biden told America that not wanting to have your paycheck raided was “unpatriotic”.

And the left went nuts with their new talking point. Over at Truth Not Required The New Republic, Jonathan Cohn penned not one but two screeds taking anyone who wants to keep a tiny portion of the money they earn to task.

But my favorite was when Oliver Willis (Occupation: Toole) even went and excerpted a 1936 Franklin Delano Roosevelt speech on how fair he thought the progressive tax rate was.

Please, tie Obama and Biden to FDR some more. Remind folks about Roosevelt extended the Great Depression by at least five years with his overtaxing of the American public to build legacy projects. How he arrested and interned tens of thousands of American citizens on a whim. How he nearly causes a Constitutional Crisis by attempting to stack the SCOTUS with judges that would agree with him. How he used his Fireside Chat radio programs to attack and belittle individual American citizens when they publicly disagreed with him. The man who, had he lived, was so power hungry that he would have run for a fourth fifth term in office. Who repeatedly lied to the American public about the state of his health and who used their tax dollars to hide these facts.

Not only will Obama lose the election if the comparison is made, we may actually get a chance to finally put the dirt of his presidency where it belongs and knock FDR down a notch.

If paying taxes is so patriotic, why don’t Obama and Biden have a plane to make everyone pay 50% taxes so we can all be hyper-patriotic?

If paying taxes is so patriotic, why don’t liberals volunteer to pay the maximum amount, or even extra taxes, so that they can publicly show their super-patriotism?

End Around

The Washington State Department of Ecology is pushing a ban on lead, including, but in no way limited to, 95% of ammunition on the market.

Tuesday the 16th was the Seattle meeting for public comment and yesterday was the Spokane meeting. Looking at the notices and files, it appears that these meetings were set up on Monday the 15th, so you know they’re up to something bad.

You can go here to find links where you can leave a comment. They are only accepting written letters and faxes.

You can try sending an email to (Barely) Governor Gregoire, and seeing as how we are within six weeks of the election it might have an impact.

Personally, I’m going to be requesting more public hearings on this issue. It will affect millions of Washingtonians and deserves more than one no notice hearing per side of the state.

Umm, what?

So local hate-monger and blogger, David Neiwert gets his eyeballs on an old photo of Sarah Palin (circa 1995) and sees her sitting with a current for the time issue of the The John Birch Society’s Con Con Call newsletter, causing him to spasm into the pit of hatred that is the FireDogLake blog a dumb, stupid, ignorant question:

“Is Sarah Palin a closet Bircher?”

Of course, he didn’t bother to wonder these things to himself while he investigated anything. No, Ben Smith at The Politico handled that angle afterwards. I would send folks that-a-way for a moderately satisfactory answer to Neiwerts pointy-headed question.

Of course, if Neiwert were the “investigator” he claimed to be, he would have known that The Birchers have already settled their minds on Palin, calling her “Republican Arm Candy” as they gathered round the campfire, whispering their ignorant theories and hoping for a bombing at the debates.
