The Jim Beam website seems to say that their Knob Creek brand is even better than Black Label. I’ve always wanted to try Knob Creek, if only because of the machine gun shoot of that name. If Boomershoot had a liquor named after it, I’d drink it too.

#29 – Global Warming is a Hoax
Some climate change doubters believe that man-made global warming is a conspiracy designed to soften up the world’s population to higher taxation, controls on lifestyle and more authoritarian government. These skeptics cite a fall in global temperatures since last year and a levelling off in the rise in temperature since 1998 as evidence.
The IPCC report goes a long way towards proof that this “conspiracy theory†might actually be true.
Waved like a banner by Global Warming Death Cultists, the actual text of the report says that things are pretty stable. Multiple scientists involved with the IPCC left the project when they saw their data manipulated and used to promote a political agenda, and even went so far as to sue to have their named removed so that their reputations would not be tainted by the IPCC report.
Since then, mountains of evidence have been uncovered that shows the planet has been cooling for at least a decade, as well as giving a great deal of credibility to the theory that said cooling and warming is tied to solar activity.
Yes, it is hard for believers in Climaticide to understand how that the big glowing ball of atomic fire that heats the planet on a daily basis might itself have periods when it runs hotter than usual and throws out more radiation, and that these average/above average periods can lead to warmer and colder periods on this planet that are centuries long.
Instead, they lavish hate and derision upon their fellow inhabitants, as well as themselves. Though they don’t hate themselves quite enough to give the other inhabitants the pleasure of their self-removal.
Among these “Conspiracy Theorists†as labeled by The Guardian, is Freeman Dyson. That link is short, but a very good read.

President-elect Barack Obama’s top choice for secretary of homeland security is Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, multiple Democratic sources close to the transition told CNN on condition of anonymity.
You remember Napolitano, right? She’s the one who vetoed four separate right to carry bills while Governor.
That’s a lovely attitude to have for someone who may be heading the Department of Homeland Security.
And you remember Tom Daschle, right? The guy who lost his Senate seat to John Thune, in part, because of his support for the renewal of the scary looking guns ban in 2004.
Well, he’s gonna be your new Secretary of Health and Human Services. I’ve also heard that he’s having a plaque made up for his office that says, “Firearm Violence is a Diseaseâ€.
OK, just kidding with that last line. Probably.
And as a closer, Countertop warned us against this, but Henry Waxman (D-Hollywood) appears to be halfway to winning the battle to take the Chairmanship of the Energy and Commerce Committee from John Dingell with help from SanFranNan. If you didn’t call your Representatives and the people Countertop suggested then, now might be a good time.

Ok, so we can simply wish that it would only happen in Oregon
Columbia County commissioners have asked the courts to decide if ballot Measure 5-190, the anti-illegal immigrant measure that passed Nov. 4 with 57 percent voter approval, is legal and enforceable.
The county filed for a Petition for Validation of Local Government Action with the Columbia County Circuit Court on Nov. 10 regarding the proposed county ordinance that would enforce Measure 5-190, which punishes business owners – particularly general contractors and subcontractors – in Columbia County who hire undocumented workers.The courts will decide if any or all of the measure is legal and able to be enforced by the county.
In a sane world the conversation would go like this: “They don’t pay income taxes or into SSI while taking away jobs from people who would do both of those things if they were the ones being employed. Therefor, the law is legal.”
OK, actually, in a sane world, that conversation wouldn’t even be taking place.
But in a state where Democrats reign, that is not the case.

I just stopped by my local gunshop to turn in the as-yet-unfired Rock Island .45 for warranty service. You may recall from this post that between last Friday and Monday of last week the shop had sold out of stripped AR lower receivers. And things just kept flying off the shelves.
Well, today, I was astonished to see three M1A battle rifles on the rack. Joe confirmed they’d just arrived today. So if you’re in the market for a tiger-striped urban camo M1A SOCOM II, a nice M1A SOCOM 16, or a longer M1A that I didn’t recognize (maybe it’s a Scout?) call Joe at J&R Sports Supply, and tell him David sent ya.
