“Global Warming” has been out of style for years.

Then “Climate Change” took its place in what the eco-socialists hoped would be a smooth transition. Because while some places were getting warmer, some were cooling, and some were not changing temperature at all, and “Global Warming” was making the children they were brainwashing cry.

Well, seeing as how we’re having the coldest year since 1997, and have been reversing any warming trend belched out by the Global Warming Death Cult’s “science”, they now have some new terminology for us to try and scare children and those with the minds of children with:

CLIMATICIDE

I said it was a banner week

Let us just “Hope” it doesn’t turn into a banner month.

I’d like to introduce you to Obama’s choice for US AG, Eric Holder

It seems to me that we owe it to our children and to ourselves and to our future to do all that we can to stop the carnage that is reflected on that chart.

We know that there is not one simple answer, and we know that there is nothing we can do that will prevent every single crime or act of violence. But we also know that there are some common-sense things that we can do and that we must do. And so I want to add my voice to those who are calling on Congress to finally — to finally — pass these very common-sense gun measures:

First, to require child safety locks for all handguns that are sold.

Second, to ban violent juveniles from ever having the ability to own guns.

Third, to pass the president’s handgun licensing proposal, which requires safety certification for all handgun purchasers.

Fourth, to support research in smart gun technology which can limit a gun’s use to its authorized owner.

And finally, to close the gun show loophole by requiring a background check for all gun purchases at gun shows.

Every day that goes by, about 12, 13 more children in this country die from gun violence. We need these common-sense measures, and we need them now.

Why is it that people who use the phrase “Common Sense Measure” when it comes to firearms never actually use their common sense?

Dems who believed that Obama would not to pass onerous gun laws on everyday citizens……Epic Fail for you.

When reasonable firearm owning citizens can only agree with one out of five of the items he’d like to see legislated, you get the FacePalm Award.

Things you know, but that Democrats do not

New research shows that the cost of health insurance for a typical family increases about $100 per month when state governments limit price adjustments based on factors like age, health or risky behaviors such as smoking.

The finding by Brigham Young University economist Mark Showalter is one of several examples of how one state’s set of rules can result in widely different prices than what’s found in the state next door. Perhaps the most eye-opening contrast exists in Trenton, New Jersey, where premiums cost about twice as much as those sold across the Delaware River in Pennsylvania.

“Establishing the actual costs of specific state regulations informs discussion of how to make health insurance more affordable,” Showalter said. “It helps present a picture of what would happen if consumers were allowed to buy insurance from other states.”

Showalter began the research during an appointment as a senior economist for the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers. He co-authored the new study with Amanda Kowalski of the National Bureau of Economic Research and William Congdon of The Brookings Institution. Their report will appear later this month in the academic journal Forum for Health Economics & Policy.

The researchers analyzed prices offered state-by-state for the estimated 26.5 million Americans who purchase directly from insurers rather than through an employer.

It is as though you must show that you slept through Economics 101 to join that party.

It is all part of The Plan

Someone was listening (or possibly just following sound economic ideas).

Mazda Motor Corp bought back 6.87-per-cent of its outstanding shares for 17.8 billion yen (184.26 million dollars) through off-hours trading at the Tokyo Stock Exchange Wednesday, it said.

The Mazda shares were sold by the second-largest US automaker Ford Motor Co, which decided to cut its 33.4-per-cent stake in Mazda to 13 per cent to raise funds.

The rest of the shares are to be sold to other investors.

The two companies retain their business partnership, with Ford still being Mazda’s largest shareholder.

They got it mostly right. Now they need to pawn off the other 13%.

In other auto news, Mitt Romney wrote an OpEd that is slightly kinder to the big three than I was, though not by much. Definitely a short RTWT piece.

A Banner Week

It seems to be turning into one.

Here you can read Knute Berger’s thoughts on Nickels’ ban on CCW holders in Seattle, which Mr. Berger kindly calls “misguided”.

The reason I point this out is because Berger is not usually a proponent of civil rights involving firearms. For instance, he is opposed to carrying in National Parks.

While he may not see the light on that issue, even he gets why CCW on City of Seattle property is important.

In other banner news, rumor has it that five US House RINOs introduced HR – 6257. The Assault Weapons Ban reauthorization of 2008.

If it is true, the House Republican leadership should run them out of the party with a pitchfork. I don’t care about how much closer to a majority it will give the Dems there. We should not be made to stand for this.

That’s right, folks.  Communist China has a better perspective on international free trade than the guy we just elected president.  This country has used capitalism to lift 400 million people out of poverty in the last 20 years.  (That’s more than the population of the US.) In the last 20 years in the US we’ve gone from the free market ideals of Reagan to the neo-socialist protectionism of Obama, all while we’ve convinced ourselves that more government, law, and regulation are the best ways to help the poor.

CW: At that Federal Way Discount Guns you told me about.

Me: Good for you. You applied for CCW too?

CW: This week.

Me: Great.

CW: There wasn’t a single rifle that took a magazine left in the rack.

Boobs Not Bullets

Personally, I like both.

But not so the City of Seattle

Seattle Parks and Recreation will drop its pursuit of a proposal that would make public nudity in parks subject to prosecution for criminal trespass.

And, in a nod to tolerance, Seattle’s parks commissioners asked parks officials to explore the possibility of a clothing-optional beach in the city.

Now, before you bachelors get all googly-eyed, remember, this is Seattle we’re talking about. Think about the broads you see at the Berkeley protests, and that is the quality of looker who is behind this push for public nudity.

So just to make it perfectly clear….

The Hirsute Harridans of Wallingford = Yes

Private citizen who has undergone extensive local, state and national background checks so that he/she may legally carry a pistol that no one can see for the sole purpose of self-defense = No
