Fun on Sunday

My friend Percodan says that watching the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix is fun.

Of course, I don’t need him to tell me that.

It started at 0330PST this morning, so you may have to catch the replay later today.

Or, you can just go look at the info and pics here.

OK, back to business!

Stop by tomorrow, I’ll have the latest installment of the By Ourselves, For Ourselves preparedness series and a large post with a number of stupid things going on in my Democrat controlled state that, I’m sure, you won’t find surprising.

Have a good Sunday folks. I’ll see you then.

Still at the Beach

My weekend is improving, although my professional relationship with my friend from yesterday meant she had to leave this morning.

But that is of no mind. I had another friend join me.

Down and Out

My friend Percodan and I are going to do some hanging out this weekend.

That means the only firearm related thing I can do is read this week’s Carnival of Cordite hosted this week by Les Jones. You should too.

And then when you’re done, head off to the range. Someone’s got to go shooting and I’m down and out all weekend.

Count Any Vote: Part Dvadtsat Shest

Whoop! There it is!

I am still not feeling too well, but I couldn’t stay away after getting this news yesterday:

Election manager linked to false report

King County’s absentee-ballot supervisor has testified that she collaborated with her boss when she filled out a report that falsely showed all ballots were accounted for in the November election.

Nicole Way said in a deposition Friday that she and assistant elections superintendent Garth Fell agreed to the misleading report because officials didn’t know how many absentee ballots were returned by voters.

Way is the first employee to link an upper-level manager with a practice that failed to meet state ballot-auditing regulations.

The regulations require counties to reconcile the number of absentee ballots returned by voters with the number of ballots accepted or rejected. Way’s report showed perfect reconciliation because it simply added the number accepted and rejected to calculate ballots returned.

Elections officials now acknowledge that dozens of absentee ballots were misplaced and the votes not tabulated during the November election. The ballots were never counted as accepted or rejected.

I’m no legal eagle, but it sounds to me like King County offered up fraudlent results to the Secretary of State to be certified and that more than one person knew of the fraud.

Con-spir-acy to defraud.

King County’s results need to be thrown out of the election total. I think we all know what result that would yield.

I’m sure that you all have heard the saying “Better to let everyone think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and prove them correct.”

King County, upon discovery of the knowledge that they could not produce an actual count number should have submitted and answer of ‘No Results’ and begged for a do over. Instead, they faked the numbers and hoped no one would notice.

Next week is going to prove very interesting indeed.

The Soundboard: The Professor takes over

Well, seeing as how the Kid is under the weather (and the influence), I would like to see if you all could help me with a dream I had last night.

All I can remember is that there was one jokester with a black goatee whose voice sounded like he had chain smoked since the age of four but was strangly smooth. The other fella was going through the most miserable heartbreak. I felt truly sorry for him as the girl sounded very special.

I believe her name was Fannie Mae.

I just wish I knew why I had this dream. Any suggestions would be appreciaited.

What is wrong with government

Throwable/heavy object alert is in effect.

First up, Ben at Reasonable Nut has a little bit to tell you about when government representatives hate their constituents. I’m glad I work alone in the office at night, otherwise I might have scared my co-workers with all the yelling.

Next, John Hindraker at the Weekly Standard has some info on the remodeling of the UN for you and how much of your tax money is going towards the useless debating society’s new digs.

Five words: bend Over And Spread ‘Em.

Blind or Hypocrite?

You make the call.

If you stopped by Michelle Malkin’s blog yesterday, you probably saw her Errata for her book ‘In Defense of Internment’.

So did a number of left wing bloggers.

Here is the jist; she included someone else’s faulty research in her book. She did not know at the time that it was faulty and as soon as the researcher retracted his claim, she did the same. Which is what yesterday’s Errata was all about.

But that is not good enough for the left. To them, now that they have found one fault in the book, the whole book is faulty.

And here we get to the question:

Dan Rather uses fake documents to try and sabotage the Bush re-election run of 2004.

Once the documents are shown to be fake, the entire left wing jumps up and says “But the story is accurate!

The media goes out and gets two of the persons of the Bush TANG era to say that they either helped Bush get into the TANG or that the commanding officer thought Bush was a screw up jerk who couldn’t be touched by said commanding officer. The one turns out to be a Kerry contributor and fundraiser who wasn’t in the position to help Bush get into the TANG at the time he says he was and the other is a Kerry supporter who had changed her story about Bush from less than two weeks previous.

But the left once again comes out with “Fake But Accurate diatribe.

Just last week, Newsweek publishes a story with an inflammatory tale about US interrogators at Guantanamo Bay flushing pages of the Koran down the toilet. This information is from a single “anonymous source and cannot be verified, but yet sounds strangely similar to a myth spread by the America hating Imams in the middle east, the same ones who tell their followers that the night vision goggles used by US troops are actually x-ray goggles so that the soldiers can look at Iraqi women naked and that all Americans have syphilis.

And once again, the left wing comes out with the “You know it really did happen/Fake But Accurate line.

Is the left wing either a group of hypocrites or they are blind?

Locked on Target

This is way cool. I may be very late in bringing it to you, but even if you’ve already seen it, it is worth a re-read.

Here’s the premise: “I’ve often noticed in movies and TV shows how people are able to go up to a padlock, take one shot with a pistol and have it fly off. For some reason, the question popped into my head recently, “How easy is it in real-life to shoot a padlock off?”

Sounds interesting enough to me, go take a look at The Range Bag Vs. Master Lock
