I shall name this rifle “Eddie,” as in “Murphy,” because it was indeed a bargain at $175. When I got it home I flipped it over to see an unnoticed price tag:
It’s My First Mosin, an M38, missing a magazine floorplate so it’s perfect for the Archangel stock and 10-round detachable magazines that ProMag is supposed to start shipping in March 2013 — can’t wait….
Having never handled one before I am impressed by its handiness — about the size of a Tanker Garand:
It has a surprising (to me) slick bolt; and a ridiculously beefy trigger. Compare to the Garand’s, which looks dainty in comparison.

I love shooting Mosin’s, my brother -in-law has one that shoots wonderfully.
Let me know how you like Archangel’s stock. They are apparently also making one for the Remington 700 but no date as to when it’ll be available.
I bought their “Nomad” stock for my stepson’s 10/22, makes the 10/22 look like the HK G36. He’ll like how “tactical” it looks, and (though I haven’t installed it yet) the setup looks like decent quality. I like how it takes an innocent plinking rifle and makes it into an eeevil “assault weapon,” so-called.
