Western Culture Plants Seeds of Revolution

Read this analysis from the Last Psychiatrist. Then recall that revolutions tend to occur during times when the overall economy might be doing well or improving in absolute terms, but not keeping up with expectations. It’s not relative deprivation, but rather perceived relative deprivation, that sparks revolution.

What’s coming is a worldwide generation of future 40 year olds who will not be able to afford what they are now being conditioned to expect.

    …but, as the culture changes, so does the character of “revolution”. I wouldn’t expect another Marx or Trotsky to arise out of the present Gen-X (or Y or Z or whatever), merely because the educational system has dumbed down the “fight back” aspects of any indignation coming their way from a failure of expectations.
