It’s important to remember to ask the right question, i.e. “Was she hot?”

Lately, there has been a string of such cases, of senior officers & enlisted (male & female) having inappropriate relationships with juniors. This baffles me, because the military does not treat this topic vaguely, they are pretty clear that this is a “Do Not Do It” topic.

I think it’s got something to do with the whole idea of “just do it” that started under CiC BJ Clinton, and went downhill from there.
Unfortunately, it happens all the time. You put men and women together in a high-pressure, high-stress incubator, and sex will occur. I don’t care how much you drill discipline into people, it’s a biological fact that you cannot put the two genders together in a combat environment (or training-for-combat environment) and expect nothing to happen.
The only real way to prevent this is politically unacceptable – separate the genders. Stop having mixed barracks, and mixed ships. Punish the people having sexual relationships within their units, even if it’s two privates bumping uglies.
But that’ll never happen.

I used to be the police partner of a gal who was one of the first three women to graduate from the USCG Academy. both of her classmates have made Admiral long ago, but, according to folks who knew her better than I, she chose to follow an, ahem, baser path while in her first command assignment, and was cashiered for it.
Sure Dave, a high stress environment, like combat, or a ship, does often lead to men & women enjoying some recreational sex. Hell, some armies used to have prostitutes on hand for their men.
However, such an environment does not lead to honorable senior enlisted or officers shagging the very junior subordinates. They are supposed to know better.
When I was in ‘A’ school, the first women in my rating came through the school (GSE/GSM). One was a perfectly professional older woman, the oter was a 19 year old tart who had a habit of wearing black & red bras under her working whites. She flirted with EVERYBODY, yet none of the chiefs or officers jumped into bed with her, even though she was practically offering herself. To say that she was shitcanned pretty fast would be an understatement.
Maybe this string of bad behavior is good, maybe it’s helping to weed out leaders with poor impulse control & reasoning ability.
