Calguns Foundation WINS in Sacramento County

When the lawsuit settles because the other side caves, that’s a win.

Derek came to dinner with the wife and I the other day and he is already well on his way to having his CCW permit in hand. He’s taken the “training course” (about which he really should blog), submitted fingerprints and qualified with his weapons. Now he’s just waiting. Should be about… two weeks!

Congratulations to Derek and to the Calguns Foundation. If you live in California, you really should DONATE or sponsor a county so we can litigate yours (and mine) into submission too.

Does that really count as a “win”? As I heard early this Spring, from the Sheriff’s own mouth, he is a gun guy himself. He was likely looking for a way to issue anyway.

I’ll believe this sort of victory when it happens in San Fran County.

It’s a win. The lawsuit was filed last year; the only reason he was doing this was to avoid getting hammered. Oh, and it’s an election year; he’s desperately been trying to get his hand-picked successor into office, thus the apparent sudden love of the 2nd Amendment. That hand-picked successor? Just happened to be the legal assistant to the County’s attorney defending this case. Kind of convenient for it to go away, especially when the opponent, a real gun guy, is likely to trounce him on this very issue.

Now if we can get Santa Clara County to roll over…
