RNS Quote of the Day: 03/23/09

You’ll remember this piece from the end of last month about the Harvard Law School held a conference in which they analyzed the “Free Market Mindset” and found that those who hold such beliefs are “psychologically troubled”.

One of the fellows at the CATO Institute have written a piece on it and that is from where today’s quote is drawn.

Now that leftists at Harvard want to portray laissez-faire philosophy as being somewhat akin to a mental disorder, maybe the next step will be re-education camps for Cato staff? Maybe the next “stimulus” bill could include a few earmarks for such facilities? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I get sent some place warm.

Daniel J. Mitchell

I’m not that docile. The only thing I’ll find “warm” about my collection for the education camps will be the barrel of my rifle.

Speaking of which, this is a good way to discover which citizens need some “re-education”.

No, you can’t shoot them.

Yes, you should be polite.

Resistance IS futile. They will mark you and your address down as a non-supporter of the Teleprompter Jesus.

Luckily, you will probably not be the first one in your town, or even in your neighborhood, to be collected (unless you are Joe). So keep your ears on and you’ll be better than most.

  1. Joe Huffman says:

They may come for me first but they will have to find my hardened underground bunker and get me out of it. Of course while they are searching for bunker busters they may find that I was actually liberating one of their camps.

  2. Kristopher says:

    There you go, Joe.

If the shit hits the fan, the proper response is for the JBTs to find an empty home.

Pre-emptively move, leave no forwarding address, and fill the bunker with concrete. They can spend all month trying to bust in.

  3. FeloniousFred says:

I figure when they come to my house, I’ll open the door just enough for me to stand in the doorway. Then I’ll tell them I want to read the pledge form. Then I’ll ask them for a pen. Then I’ll step back inside with the clipboard full of pledges, and their pen, and slam the door. I’ll then go to my shredder and shred all forms (signed and unsigned). I’ll keep the pen and clipboard if they’re nondescript. If it has an annoying Obama sticker on the back of the clipboard, I’ll walk out in my back yard and throw it up on my neighbors roof behind me. Then I’ll go back and answer the door and tell them to get out of my yard or I’m calling the police.

    Resistance can be fun!

Thanks for reminding me that I need a new “no soliciting” sign- I’ll pick that up on the way home. And I need to order some 12 gauge beanbag shells.
