He certainly has brass ones

Taking once used mil-surp brass casings off the open market and selling it for scrap to be cast into shippable ingots and sold to China at an 80% loss of monetary recuperation instead of letting companies like Black Hills reload and sell it for commercial use, should be cause for criminal charges.

Dear Valued Customer:

Please take a moment to note important changes set forth by the Defense Logistics Agency:

Recently it has been determined that fired munitions of all calibers, shapes and sizes have been designated to be Demil code B. As a result and in conjunction with DLA’s current Demil code B policy, this notice will serve as official notification which requires Scrap Venture (SV) to implement mutilation as a condition of sale for all sales of fired munitions effective immediately. This notice also requires SV to immediately cease delivery of any fired munitions that have been recently sold or on active term contracts, unless the material has been mutilated prior to sale or SV personnel can attest to the mutilation after delivery. A certificate of destruction is required in either case.

Thank you,

Granted, the sum of the sales of brass is miniscule when the entire federal budget, or even just the DOD budget, is compared. But wasn’t it His Royal Teleprompterness who said that every dollar must be effectively spent?

If tax cuts = Loss of federal revenue, then throwing money away buy scraping perfectly good non-ferrous metal instead of RECYCLING it without recasting its form is also a loss of federal revenue.

Watch for a 10% increase in ammo prices from this, because you know the Chinese aren’t going to make and sell ammo to us with it.
