This morning made being the Work Gunnie not such a bad thing.
Yesterday one of our residential drivers was dumping a trash toter into the back of his truck, and when he pulled the can back he saw eight boxes off ammo. Four boxes of 12ga (two boxes of #6 and two boxes of #4), one box of Remington .357Mag, one box of Remington and two boxes of Winchester White .40cal.
This cannot go into the back of his truck because of the danger of the compression setting the ammo off and possibly starting a fire back there. So he pulled them out of the hopper and put them in the cab of his truck. When he got in at the end of the day he gave it to his manager who held it for me.
Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, it swiftly got locked in the back of my truck.
Minor issue: I’ve got multiple 12ga firearms and a couple that fire .357, but I’ve got no .40cal pistols. Anyone local out there who’d want to do a trade? It’s all factory, not reloads, with the sealed primers.
I’ve got 37 rounds in the Remington box(180gr FMJ), one full 100rnd box of Winchester White and one Winchester White box with 76 rounds in it (165gr FMJ). I’ll give you a better than two to one deal. 213rnds of .40 S&W for 100rnds of .45ACP, 9mm, .380ACP, .38Spl or .357Mag. Anything but Wolf.
With ammo costing what it does, I think that’s a fair swap.
UPDATE: Sold. To the e-mail bidder.
just out of curiosity, how long between posting and getting your first offer?
Like you need any other excuse now to go get a .40 pistol? I’ve heard the S&W m&PO is a good one.
Less than two hours, HKP.
I really cannot afford to get anything right now, Dirtcrashr. Something else is going on around these parts and I’d rather save the $30 for the .45ACP ammo I’m trading for than buy a pistol Washington state will demand I register with them.
Ah, despite our insane laws don’t have a registration, it’s instant background and out – unless they’re keeping that there’s no other trace data. Or I’m a fool.
Ours is a defacto registration. A separate set of paperwork from the 4473, done in triplicate, one kept by the shop, one sent to the county the shop resides in and one to the state. The state sheet gets entered in “The System†and tied to your CCW.
I’ve talked to the CCRKBA about it and it is not something they feel like fighting right now.
