Leftists rattle on and on about murderers like the Unitarian Church shooter from a month or so ago, and the guy who killed the Democrat car dealership owner, as being right-wing sycophants who were egged on by the “Eliminationist Rhetoric” that supposedly comes out of the talk radio market.
However, when one of the Indymedia faithful goes off and walks up behind a Sheriff’s Deputy who is fueling his patrol car at a gas station and shoots him in the back of the head, or the ALF/ELF terrorists burn down a house occupied by a University of California research scientist and his family, the leftists say that these are just random acts not inspired by anything anyone on the left may have said.
Hell, they even patent excuses to explain away the SDS murderers.
And now we can add this to the list of attempted murders committed by vocal leftists
A man who threatened to behead two women because they were Christians was attacked in self-defense early Saturday and injured so severely, police say, that his eye was to be removed.
Russell Bowman, who called himself an atheist, showed up with a large knife at the women’s apartment in the 700 block of Tia Juana Street about 3:15 a.m., police said.
Another resident grabbed a shotgun and ordered him to put the knife down. When Bowman refused and began approaching, the person hit him with the butt end of the weapon, police said.
Doctors at Memorial Hospital reportedly told police the eye would have to be removed.
Bowman, who lived in the same building, threatened the women a couple of days before the confrontation, Colorado Springs Police Lt. Pat Rigdon said. Alcohol appeared to play a role, he said.
Police will likely pursue charges of felony menacing against Bowman. The investigation will be forwarded to the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office to see if other charges are merited.
And I’m sure that they guy sees himself as the one who was the victim here. Luckily, it sounds as though no charges will be pressed against the neighbor with the kick-ass butt-stroke skills. However, I’m sure that Bowman will be hauling the guy into civil court for damages.
And I hope beyond all hope that the judge, presented with evidence of Bowman’s drunken, knife-wielding attempt at decapitation, laughs the guy out of court, and then the citizens of Colorado Springs laugh the guy out of town.
Let this jackass take off to Sacramento to hang with his compatriot, Michael Newdow.
I can say that the theologically minded do not have a lock on loonies, bigots, predators, and other persons offensive to society.
I’m agnostic, and like many other agnostics/atheists, we have no problem with what anyone believes, as long as you respect my right to not believe as you do. Sadly, some of our ilk see religion as too great of an evil to tolerate, instead of a social structure that was built by man, is run by man, and shares all the greatness and foibles of man.
The Colorado Homeowner Protection Act makes it legal for the occupant of a home ”to use any degree of force, including deadly force, against another person when that person has made an unlawful entry and when the occupant has a reasonable belief that such person has committed a crime or intends to commit a crime against person or property.” It is generally referred to as the “Make My Day Law”. Since a Prosecutor or a Plaintiff would have to prove that the Occupants invited or lured the “Victim” into the house to even start a court case they are very unlikely to be brought up on charges or taken to court for “damages”.
