Destroy ‘Em With Porn

Joe Huffman often points out that the proper strategy in this war is to destroy the enemy’s culture.

Seems that other folks have caught on to the idea. A lot of them, in fact. Lots and lots of quotable stuff at the link. My favorite:

“We are addicted to their oil, it is the engine of our prosperity.

They are addicted to our culture, the engine of their defeat.”

And indeed, on YouPorn (the YouTube of porn, get it?) a search with the word “Arab” turns up many many videos. May there be many many more….

See the lengths to which I go for you readers?

The Soundboard: Let me take you on a journey

But not a “Steve Perry” kind of Journey.

Although I may swing back into guitar strings and drum skins in the upcoming weeks. Walker: Commuter Ranger only has an AM/FM radio and I must say that Seattle Radio as a whole has improved a bit since I last tuned in.

But today we’re going to stick with that album I pulled last week’s Soundboard track from. I figure that if I can’t get you to buy the disc with two tracks, you ain’t gonna buy it. Your loss, not mine.

Anyway, today’s tunage is not only from the same album, but also from the same guy

Logistics – The Trip

And seriously, if you buyin in, you’re missing out.

Here’s the album

Make Room

On your food product labels. Because if the ever-wailing members of the US branch of the Global Warming Death Cult get to have anything to say about it, this will be crossing the pond in short order.

Shoppers will be able to tell how much damage their purchases do to the environment, under a government plan unveiled yesterday.

Products will display labels showing the greenhouse gas emissions created by their production, transport and eventual disposal, similar to the calorie or salt content figures on food packaging.

Consumers have little way of judging the environmental impact of goods and services, often relying on the miles such products have travelled from their country of origin.

Thaddeus Tremayne over at Samizdata says he’ll be looking for and purchasing the labels with the largest footprint.

I think that that is good advice.

Not Their Fault

By now you’ve probably heard of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock who died while DUI. Not only was he DUI, but there was pot found in his truck, he was talking on his mobile phone, speeding and not wearing his seatbelt. He hit a tow truck assisting a vehicle that had spun out after being cut-off in traffic shortly before Hancock arrived.

Well, now Hancock’s dad is suing everyone this side of Moses. The tow company and driver, the owner of the spun out car, and the bar.

Apparently, the dad thinks that no part of the accident was his son’s fault.

A while back, Ravenwood posted about a young woman who is suing the maker of her satellite navigation system for her car getting hit by a train.

She recounted: “Obviously I had never done the journey before so I was using the satnav – completely dependent on it. I came to this crossing at Ffynongain and there was like a metal gate, which looked like just a normal farmers’ gate with a red circle on it. I thought it was a dead end at first and then there was a little sign saying, if the light is green, open the gates and drive through.

“So I opened the gate, drove forward, closed the gate behind me and then went to go and open the gate in front of me. Then I heard this train and I noticed there was train tracks. It was only then that I did realise I was on a train crossing…”

Apparently, she thinks that because she wasn’t smart enough to open both gates, cross the tracks, then close both gates, that she shouldn’t be liable for her car getting hit by a train.

Here in Washington State, the Legislature allotted $100 Million of the citizen’s tax dollars to “Create Family Wage Jobs” in the state.

Needless to say, the government can’t “create jobs” outside of its own bureaucracy and the program has seen the vast majority of the money go down the toilet, creating either minimum wage jobs or no jobs at all.

(Barely) Governor Gregoire is disappointed, saying that she held her nose when she signed the bill OK’ing some of the funds.

I saw this in my email from the Seattle Times on Monday night and was going to post on it, but decided against it. Until Sound Politics pointed out that this bill was introduced to the Legislature at the request of (Barely) Governor Gregoire.

I guess that the paper is embarrassed to admit this waste of $100 Million of taxpayer money has Gregoire’s name all over it, because they never mention it. Either that or they don’t think it’s her fault.

And I’m damn sure that Gregoire won’t claim responsibility for the boondoggle.

It’s not what they do in public

That shows their true colors. It’s what they do in private.

A purely anecdotal but easily believable tale from Lee at Right Thinking’s better half

I work with kids at an after school program. For the last week or so I have doing a project where we have the kids writing letters to wounded Marines out of Camp Pendleton. Today, as I was doing paperwork, I looked up and saw a very pissed-off mother walking towards me. She said she needed to speak to me, then started off by saying her son had come home and told her that we were writing letters to wounded soldiers. She then proceeded to tell me that her son would not be writing a letter, that she did not believe in the war, that the soldiers had chosen to put themselves in harms way, and because of this they did not deserve any letters. She said that she didn’t want her son getting the wrong idea about the war being “okay,” and she would be talking to my boss about the letter writing project.

I stood there in complete disbelief. I couldn’t even speak. I said okay, she flipped her hair, and walked away.

I don’t much believe in the war either but I do support those soldiers who give up their lives for us. I wanted to tell her what a heartless dumb bitch she was but kept my mouth shut because I wanted a job to come to tomorrow…

I wonder if that woman’s been up to Orcas Island lately?

Looks like Aunt Flo is visiting Pandagon

Or maybe she’s always like that?

Raving Ale Wench, Armanda Marcotte takes exception to Chris Muir’s “Day By Day” editorial cartoon from this last weekend, and does some editing of the text within the cells.

For those not willing to venture over to the Land of Hatred and Estrogen that is Pandagon, Marcotte alleges that all of the facts in Muir’s panels are “Neo-Con Talking Points” and “Comforting Lies” for “Idiots”. For evidence that the words Muir wrote are lies, she links to this Snopes piece.

Unfortunately for her, Snopes does not discount anything that Muir wrote and only mentions that these facts are included in chain emails.

Oh yeah, and they were also put out as fact in press conferences from as far back as Bremer and articles such as one in Forbes by Weinberger.

I guess she took exception that Muir can draw a more attractive woman than Marcotte will ever become.

The Winning Side….

Say it, Uncle!

What scares these guys most is that in the last 20 years, there have been tremendous gains in the right to arms. Sure they passed the ban on weapons that look like assault weapons but it sunset and good riddance. 48 states now allow concealed carry permits of some kind. Also, the justice department for the first time in 4 decades views the second amendment as an individual right, as does the Congress and both major party platforms. The DC circuit supports an individual right, as does the fifth circuit. States are passing castle doctrine laws so fast, my head is spinning. And they’ve expanded self-defense laws. The Democrats won’t touch gun control with a ten foot pole. And anti-gunners like Romney and Giuliani are recanting their old positions. We, the real gun guys, are winning. And that scares them. Bad.

Nothing to see here

Keep moving. Don’t worry about a thing.

The federal government recorded a $1.3 trillion loss last year — far more than the official $248 billion deficit — when corporate-style accounting standards are used, a USA TODAY analysis shows.

The loss reflects a continued deterioration in the finances of Social Security and government retirement programs for civil servants and military personnel. The loss — equal to $11,434 per household — is more than Americans paid in income taxes in 2006.

“We’re on an unsustainable path and doing a great disservice to future generations,” says Chris Chocola, a former Republican member of Congress from Indiana and corporate chief executive who is pushing for more accurate federal accounting.

Modern accounting requires that corporations, state governments and local governments count expenses immediately when a transaction occurs, even if the payment will be made later.

The federal government does not follow the rule, so promises for Social Security and Medicare don’t show up when the government reports its financial condition.

Bottom line: Taxpayers are now on the hook for a record $59.1 trillion in liabilities, a 2.3% increase from 2006. That amount is equal to $516,348 for every U.S. household. By comparison, U.S. households owe an average of $112,043 for mortgages, car loans, credit cards and all other debt combined.

Ignore the debt behind the curtain. Keep moving

RNS Quote of the Day: 05/30/07

Because I found a decent source with at least a couple weeks worth of eco-socialist/Global Warming Death Culitist quotes, I’m just gonna harp on these sorry bastages for a while longer.

Capitalism is a cancer in the biosphere.
