Make Room

On your food product labels. Because if the ever-wailing members of the US branch of the Global Warming Death Cult get to have anything to say about it, this will be crossing the pond in short order.

Shoppers will be able to tell how much damage their purchases do to the environment, under a government plan unveiled yesterday.

Products will display labels showing the greenhouse gas emissions created by their production, transport and eventual disposal, similar to the calorie or salt content figures on food packaging.

Consumers have little way of judging the environmental impact of goods and services, often relying on the miles such products have travelled from their country of origin.

Thaddeus Tremayne over at Samizdata says he’ll be looking for and purchasing the labels with the largest footprint.

I think that that is good advice.

Well, I do enjoy certain imported foods, but now I can enjoy my Pocky and Mexican Coca-Cola as well as sending the enviro-nuts a big FU.

If they’re so worried about the size of their carbon footprints, why not just reduce it to zero and kill yourself?

DFWMTX, I’m sure the thought has crossed the Goracle’s mind, and I’m probably on that list as well.

My question: Can the Goracles calculate what x-number of grains of smokeless powder does to the atmosphere when it is burned? That way, by the simple expedient of shooting, which we must all practice against the day that the Goracle gets REALLY into his religion, as well as for other excesses of the Left, we can all practice what WE are preaching, which is to say that man’s puny efforts, even if they WERE deliberate, can’t foul the atmosphere enough to hurt ourselves.

Rivrdog, while practice is a good thing, stockpiling / hoarding ammo is more enviromentally friendly. 🙂

But if you truly want to go for the grand slam of pissing off the liberals in their enviromental lunacy, Israel-hating and gun-hating, one of the best things one could do is to buy Israeli bullets. Big ol’ carbon footprint shipping it from Israel, you’re supporting the Joooooooos, and hey, you’re buying bullets for your guns.

I wonder how big of a carbon footprint will result from all the stupid extra printing on the labels?
