Of Tzatziki sauce.
Needs more garlic!
So get on that, will ya!
Friend and co-worker Paul has been sending me links to this OZ based autoblog called Jalopnik, so I thought I’d show them to you.
First up, without following this link, take a guess at where the body for this T-Bucket style roadster came from
Secondly, and probably more to the tastes of RNS regulars, the site hosted a Ten Best Post-Apocalyptic Survival Vehicles poll and had more than a few choices I had never even heard of.
Trying to stay close to reality, instead of just a Zombiepocalypse frame of mind, I’m choosing this Volvo C303
Although, even more in reality, though without the ground clearance or hauling capacity, the third available choice looks mighty good too.
So go check out Japlonik. You’ll prolly find something very interesting there.
hie thee on over to Squeaky’s place for a reminder that long before any reset button comes nigh to being pushed, the Second Amendment will be helping thousands of women escape the personal and individual traumas of the tyranny of evil men.
For years now, Michael Bane’s been shouting into the wind that the winning argument in popular culture for the Second Amendment is neither hunting nor the right to revolt, but personal protection — especially for women.
I think popular culture’s finally starting to get the idea. But the more women with Molon Labe tattoos out there, the closer “guns are equalizers” is to being seen as conventional wisdom.
Brava, Squeaky.
Today we are going to honor the passing of two greats in their field, and hope to ward off the “In Threes” sequence with tunage.
The first, of course, is William F Buckley. I’ve only read a little of his works, but quite a few of his quotes. I didn’t agree with him always, but that is individualism. He helped motivate what was a retreating brand of philosophy, which I prefer, and he therefore deserves respect.
For our first piece of music, In Threes, we have Rush, circa 1978.
This was recorded at the Hammersmith-Odeon and is from the #3 disk of the Different Stages collection of live music.
This week we also lost masterpiece creator and all around automotive great, Boyd Coddington. His visions in steel, like no one else. Foose still has to go another decade or two before he can match Boyd.
For Mr. Coddington, we have another In Threes band, current owners of Cadzilla, ZZ Top, circa 1979.
She Loves My Automobile – ZZ Top
Of course, from my favorite ZZ album, Deguello
So long, gentlemen. And thank you.

But that’s only two songs, Phil.
Correct, but since I screwed up last week’s song dedicated to Obama, it is now corrected and still loaded up for you to sample.
Enjoy.
I don’t know what to do with them all. Hit the link. Drink in the stupidity.
Credit Cardholders Bill of Rights
House Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee Chairwoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY) today introduced the “Credit Cardholders’ Bill of Rights Act of 2008†(H.R. 5244), comprehensive credit card reform legislation aimed at leveling the playing field between credit card companies and consumers. The balanced bill abolishes major industry abuses that unfairly hurt consumers while fostering fair competition and free market values.
Blah, blah, blah.
I don’t have a right to a credit card, so why would I need a Bill of Rights if I voluntarily enter into a partnership with a credit card company? Can’t I just pay off the card and cancel the partnership if I don’t like the interest rate increases or the fees?
Sponsored by Caroline Maloney (D-Idiotland)
Of course, this bill was sponsored by a Democrat. The party and its members want to give me a Cardholders Bill of Rights, but curiously ignore the one used to bedrock this nation.
This quote is so stupid that, just like today, it can only be found every four years.
At 12.54pm the West Midlands, North Yorkshire and London was hit by a Earthquake …
Explosive volcanic eruption and tectonic activity are the two main causes of earthquakes. But with all the talk about global warming and how its effecting the environment isn’t this a sign that we really have to start leading greener lifestyles. Our erratic weather is starting to take real effect.
Remember what I said earlier this week?
I told you so.
Btw, I linked the quote to Tim Blair because Ms. Blood seems to have realized just how stupid she sounded and has deleted the post.
The MadRocketScientist posts “And I Carry Concealed” and earns a spot on top of RNS for the day because it is that good.
Go. Now. Read.
(and then come on back)
In other top of the page announcements, The Soundboard will be up tomorrow, in honor of the extra day.
Not a single testicle in the room.
An armed man who burst into a classroom at Elizabeth City State University was role-playing in an emergency response drill, but neither the students nor assistant professor Jingbin Wang knew that.”I was prepared to die at that moment,” Wang said Tuesday.
The Friday drill, in which a mock gunman threatened panicked students in the American foreign policy class with death, prompted university officials to apologize this week to Wang and offer counseling to faculty and students.
OK, they’ve accounted for at least one wang, but still no balls in inventory.
Not one take charge guy in the room?
Every guy in that room should have to wear a Scarlet “C†so as to let all females in the immediate area know he’s a wuss. I understand that some women enjoy their men subservient and unable to think for their own survival, and there is a reason why I don’t know any.
Think I’m being harsh?
The mock intruder, a campus police officer, carried a red plastic model gun, according to a university news release.
Wang, who teaches history and political science, said Tuesday in a telephone interview he was having a discussion in his foreign policy class when the man came to the door and said he wanted to talk with him.
“Suddenly the man pointed the gun at me,” he said. Wang said he did not know whether the gun was real. “I saw the gun but didn’t have too much time to think about that,” he said. “The man was serious.”
Seriously stupid to be pointing a fake gun and ordering me against a wall.
The odds were eight against one. If even 25% of the people in that room had any survival instinct beyond appeasement, that campus security officer would have needed EMT’s. Books, chairs, ballpoint pens, or *gasp* a closed fist. Why are these people so willing to talk until they die? Where in the hell does that come from?
I guess “PoliSci – Why Try” is still an accurate catchphrase at American colleges.
Found @ the Confederate Yankee
And you thought Windoze crashed a lot
Maybe the EU should put all that rarefied brainpower of theirs to work and write their own Intel-based operating system and GUI, instead of forcing Microsoft to give away trade secrets to second rate European companies.Shudder. For one dark second, I imagined what an OS designed by the EU might look like.
On the topic of the EU fining Microsoft $1.3 Billion for making a product that too many people in their controlled territory like to use.
Speaking of the EU, I guess that life must be pretty sweet in Europe if this is all the courts over there have to worry about.
The European Court of Justice ruled that only the crumbly cheese that has been made for 800 years near the Italian city of Parma can legally be called Parmesan.
The court criticized Germany for allowing sales of imitation “Parmesan” in violation of E.U. food-origin rules.
Wait until the Swiss get wind of this! They’ll have a monopoly!
Actually, Smear of Pap would probably be more accurate
The Times recently became enmeshed in controversy over an article published concerning John McCain. Sixty-five percent (65%) of the nation’s likely voters say they have followed that story at least somewhat closely.
Of those who followed the story, 66% believe it was an attempt by the paper to hurt the McCain campaign. Just 22% believe the Times was simply reporting the news. Republicans, by an 87% to 9% margin, believe the paper was trying to hurt McCain’s chances of winning the White House. Democrats are evenly divided.
Also, only 24% of Americans polled by Rasmussen have a favorable opinion of the Grey Lady these days.
That’s gotta make the shareholders proud.
