I did what Kevin Baker said he couldn’t bring himself to do: Read the leftosphere the day of the death of former White House Press Secretary, Tony Snow.

And with good reason.

The HuffPo had to shut the comments section down again. If they’re not wishing death upon someone over there, they’re cheering over someone they disagree with dying a painful death.

Knowledgable about how their sect seeths, the news didn’t even make the front page at the dKos, FireDogLake, Crooks and Liars, or at Oliver Willis’ place.

The ineptly named AmericaBlog, headed by John Aravosis, on the other hand, put it right up top for all to comment on:

Ted Bundy was a nice guy. Wayne Williams was a nice guy. Hitler had his moments, I’m sure so I wouldn’t use the nice guy argument to judge his legacy.

I couldn’t give a shit.
This man did so much willful damage in his life, I have nothing good to say about him in death.

This was the personification of the bush regime. Privileged, pious, and arrogant without empathy for anything or anyone unlike them. Not only will he not be missed but the we’re better off without him. May Dana Perino be right behind him.

ahhhh folks let’s not forget he was an appeaser – co-conspirator – chief liar – lord of obfuscation.

He lied for the bush crime family and the Oligarchy.

We can not and should not ease up on these traitorous bastards even in death. Here was a man who would rather trump power and money over the love of this nation. One less TORY/REPUKE on this earth, the better, cause, if you didn’t realize it, the oligarchy thinks the same of you and I. Some just don’t have the balls to say it. Some do of course, jesse helms couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

What it should have read:

“Tony Snow, a conservative-fascist writer and commentator who continually lied to reporters in the White House briefing room during a court jester style session as President Bush’s press secretary, has died of colon cancer, Fox News reported Saturday. Snow was 53 years old.”

I HAVE NO LOVE FOR THESE REPUKES – AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU….

Question for Hendo of the BATRC

Joe linked to this Brady Campaign to Stop Car Violence Car Ban post at Hendawg’s Blog yesterday.

The Race Car Ban of 2006 bans all compact cars with two or more of the following racing features:

Four valves per cylinder
Aerodynamic spoiler or wing that protrudes conspicuously above the trunk lid or rear deck
Air dam
Hood scoop
Chrome exhaust tip
Levitation lights
Afterburner

The Race Car Ban would also ban the following race cars by name:

Honda Civic (all models)
Subaru Impreza WRX
Mitsubushi Lancer (all models)
Honda S2000
Volvo S40
Mazda 3 and Protoge
Toyota Corolla
Scion (all models)
Saturn Ion
Bentley Speed 8
NHRA Top Fuel dragster
Caterpillar D9
Boeing 737
Airbus A380

Possibly because I’m an idiot, the only way I can see to comment requires me to register with three very crappy “comments” services that I do not belong to, hence this post.

My question for Hendo of the BATRC (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Race Cars) is this:

My non-listed 1984 Toyota Supra has both a factory front air dam and a conspicuously protruding dual wing on the rear hatch. The dam is integral to the front bumper and its removal would cause a significant safety issue with both the DOT and the NHTSC. Removal of the upper wing would leave a 1/2 inch diameter hole in the rear hatch glass from a support post that keeps the upper wing from collapsing at high velocity. What are my options to seal this opening without running afoul of these new regulations.

Please supply two suggestions, since, as was the case with the old Bureau when it oversaw firearms, once I fulfill my obligations using the one which is completely reasonable, your office will then change their mind and arrest me, and I would just like to do the unreasonable one first to save you all the trouble of having to do so.

Had this been a real question to a real government agency, they reply would have been as follows:

Dear Sir,

We are not automobile technicians and your question makes absolutely no sense to us. Our experts are likewise unable to discern a mutually beneficial way to resolve this situation.

Our only option is to order the seizure and destruction of said dangerous vehicle, with no compensation to you.

You may turn possession of the automobile over to your local police department at your earliest convenient time.

Your receipt of this letter is evidence of your refusal to comply.

No, No, and No

In the “People Ruin Everything” column for the week, I have two Hollywood Kings of Jackassery doing their damnedest to ruin Sherlock Holmes.

Robert Downey Jr. is set to star in Sherlock Holmes, director Guy Ritchie’s feature drama about the fictional detective. This latest incarnation of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle character is based on an upcoming comicbook from producer Lionel Wigram which portrays Holmes as less stuffy and more adventurous, using physical prowess along with intellect to solve mysteries.

First of all, Guy Ritchie is even dumber than Sean Penn because he saw that train wreck and still concluded that marrying Madonna would be “a good idea”. That, and he’s a hack.

Secondly, one of the last things I look for in an actor to play Holmes is an ability to accurately portray the detective’s junkie side. That, and Downey’s accent abilities are Teh Fail.

And physical prowess? Puh-leez. On my worst day I could pick the little bugger up by back loop of his Levi’s and midget toss him.

Anyone with an opinion worth listening to knows the only person currently living who could be the part is Alan Rickman (with Mark Williams as Dr. John H. Watson, James Broadbent as Mycroft Holmes, and Roger Lloyd Pack as Professor James Moriarty).

I’m giving the Ritchie project a 75% likelihood of failure. And I’m being very kind.

The project is set to start production this fall, ahead of Columbia Pictures’ presumably more comic Sherlock Holmes movie, which stars Sacha Baron Cohen as the pipe-smoking sleuth and Will Ferrell as his assistant, Watson.

15 minutes of laughs surrounded by 65 minutes of yawn. Just like Talledega Nights, only with wool tartan trenches.

Fuck, I really dislike Hollywood.

It is a damn crime

There recently was a death of a 98 year old lady named Irena.

During WWII, Iliana, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.

She had an ulterior motive…

She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews, (being German).

Iliana smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in, and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.

Iliana kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family.

Most of course had been gassed.

Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.

Last year Iliana was up for the Nobel Peace Prize….

She LOST.

Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.

Sadly, all we can do is aptly call the Nobel Committee a bunch of pricks and the award not worth the cloth strap it is hung on.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who would like very much to reimpose the old, so-called, “Fairness Doctrine” that once censored conservative opinion on television and radio broadcasting, is scheming to impose rules barring any member of Congress from posting opinions on any internet site without first obtaining prior approval from the Democratic leadership of Congress. No blogs, twitter, online forums – nothing.

As ZenPundit points out, the current rules are more restrictive than the ones Pelosi and Company are now proposing.

However, they have gone unenforced for decades, which is why they want some new ones they can replate the slate with.

A List That Actually Matters

CNBC has rated all 50 states in terms of “Best for Business” using these categories: Cost of doing business, Workforce, Economy, Education, Quality of Life, Technology and Information, Transportation, Cost of Living, Business Friendliness, and Access to Capital

The list came out as follows:

1 Texas
2 Virginia
3 Utah
4 Idaho
5 Colorado
6 North Carolina
7 South Dakota
8 Georgia
9 Iowa
10 Minnesota

Notice that the only “Blue” state on the entire list comes in at #10. The closest “Purple” state comes in at #5.

There is a reason for that. Not the least of which is that those two states are also the only ones in the Top 10 that are not Right to Work states.

Washington tied with the People’s Republic of New Jersey at #18.

Oh Baby

Now go vote like a big boy.

Dozens of German politicians have tabled a new law to extend voting rights to babies, toddlers, children and teenagers.

The bill, which has won the cross-party backing of some heavyweight German politicians, would wipe away decades of “exclusion” and “discrimination” against minors, according to its supporters.

Currently the voting threshold in Germany is 18, with an exception in some states, where 16-year-olds are allowed to cast a ballot.

But that does not go far enough for the new law’s backers, who want to ensure voting rights from cradle to grave. If the bill gets adopted, babies will have the same powers to voice their opinion on government handling of macro-economic performance in a global downturn enjoyed by their parents.

So now voting age requirements are ageist?

The only ulterior motive I can think of that this is some sort of idea to get citizens to breed. But if that is the case, couldn’t they just offer a tax credit or something?
