Food for thought when next we consider gun control.

After the Japanese decimated our fleet in Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941, they could have sent their troop ships and carriers directly to California to finish what they started.

The prediction from our Chief of Staff was we would not be able to stop a massive invasion until they reached the Mississippi River . Remember, we had a 2 million man army and war ships… all fighting the Germans.

So, why did they not invade?

After the war, the remaining Japanese generals and admirals were asked that question.

Their answer, they knew that almost every home had guns and the Americans knew how to use them!

The world’s largest army… America ‘s hunters! I had never thought about this….

A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin .. allow me to restate that number.

Over the last several months, Wisconsin ‘s hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.

More men under arms than in Iran. More than in France and Germany combined. These men deployed to the woods of a single American state to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed. That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan ‘s 700,000 hunters All of whom have now returned home. Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world.

The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting — it’s not just a way to fill the freezer. It’s a matter of national security.

That’s why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought when next we consider gun control.

The Latest in Victimology

Occupy Montreal had the flush chain pulled on them last Friday. While being “processed”, the Montreal constabulary used an old nightclub trick of writing on the backs of the fleabagger hands with unltraviolet ink in order to keep them from re-entering the park they were “occupying”.

One of the fleabaggers claims that she felt “something metallic” scrape her skin during this process and is claiming that the officer gave her an unwanted tattoo because the writing on her hand was still there after repeated washings.

Which was all it took for John Aravosis of the hyperleft AmericaBlog to make a “nazi’s tattooing Jews” analogy. Nevermind that this ink is supposed to be hard to remove, and never mind that the tip of the applicator is plastic. He doesn’t know or care to know any of this and instead Godwin’s himself on his front page.

She doesn’t make a single claim of blood on her hands, which is on of the things that always happens when you get ink subdermally injected. Yet, she is calling it a tattoo. Aravosis has linked to the pictures of the number written on the occupier’s hand. As a well inked person I can personally testify that if you were to get a tattoo that wide, there would be a good quantity of blood rolling down your wrist.

There is even an update to the Salon article stating that the ink finally wore off after four days. And yet he refuses to remove his analogy.

What a shitstain.

Boeing makes a second 787 line in SC.  Boeing threatens to move new 737 line to “somewhere else”.  Boeing now has a shiny new 4-yr contract with the strike happy IAM a full 10 months before the old one runs out, in exchange for keeping the new 737 production in Renton.  And that NLRB case?  Gone.

Methinks Boeing was playing a long game.

This ain’t Wisconsin

When the building is closed for business for they day, you need to get your ass out.

And it looks like the “landings” weren’t all that soft.

Toll in 2 days at Capitol: $12K in costs, 6 Troopers and 1 state worker injured

The toll in the first two days of the Legislature’s emergency budget session:

  • Six troopers and one state employee hurt in scuffles with protesters.
  • Fifteen arrests, and at least six demonstrators hit with shocks from troopers’ stun guns.
  • $12,000 in overtime costs for troopers on Monday alone and $8,200 for their first-day travel to Olympia.
  • Two hearings on the budget that were held up by demonstrators.
  • Two votes taken on legislation – neither of them on the state budget that has brought lawmakers to Olympia to fix a $2 billion problem.

Demonstrators demand the gap be bridged in part with tax increases, not just with cuts to social services, schools and the like. The State Patrol says most have expressed those sentiments peacefully. But there have been confrontations with a few in the Occupy movement.

But hey, at least they weren’t pepper sprayed. That would have the beginning of the “police state”.
