You mean that the Euros aren’t doing so well economically? How can this happen!?!
EU VP says Europe economy is worse
In a 15-minute speech to foreign ambassadors, financial experts and business men and women, newly elected European Parliament Vice President Alejo Vidal-Quadras Roca tried to answer the question on the minds of 450 million European Union citizens: “Why is the European economy not growing?”
Speaking in plain language, Roca, who spoke Thursday at the University Club in Washington, D.C., painted a bleak picture of the region’s economy, quoting 19 statistical data figures that all said the same thing: Europe lacks growth.
Compared to other countries like the United States and Japan it is a fact that Europe’s productivity and growth rate has fallen well behind its main partners.
In 2004, the average growth of the euro area was only 2.2 percent, lagging behind economies like the United States, which grew by 4 percent and Japan, which grew by 4.4 percent.
In terms of gross domestic product in 2004, the European Union had a 1 percent GDP growth rate, unlike the United States, which had a 3 percent growth rate.
“The United States is performing better than the European Union, that is something that Europeans should reflect upon,” he said.
“Why does the European economy not work? Why does the European economy not grow? Why are there not enough jobs?” asked Roca. “We torture ourselves with these questions.”
And you torture your citizens with you pig-ignorant socialist agendas.
I clearly remember, during the period from Jan 04 to Nov 04, hearing more than a dozen different liberal/progressive radio shows and more than a dozen different blogs talking about how America was going to become a third world country soon because of GWB’s economic policies and the EU was going to kick our asses.
Yeah right!
That group of countries has been fighting each other for a millennium. What the hell, do they think that some piece of paper is going to do for them? Especially one that the vast majority have of them have never read, and those that have read it couldnt tell the idiot next to them what it says or means.
They do not believe that the jihadiism in their own countries is a problem because theyre so self-involved and self-enamored with themselves that they cant see three feet in front of their damn noses.
In the next 20 years, when Europe has to call on America for help to get them out ANOTHER stupid conflict (a conflict that the American left will demand we get into, by the way) we should just send a few tactical nukes over and wipe the slate clean, start over again and be done with it.
Sound harsh? No Blood for France!
The Klutz over at Kicking Broadswords is taking an American Presidency class and has a frightening experience,
My American Presidency class had just gotten out and a couple of us stood around discussing politics.
The teacher (Democrat) asked if there was anything we agreed with about the Democratic Party and the president of the College Republicans brought up public education. I did my John Dewey socialist rant and when that didn’t seem to work I brought up the Constitution. I asked him where in the Constitution the feds have the power to control education. He acknowledged that it didn’t but remarked:
“I don’t really believe in the Constitution”
Upon uttering that sentence the teacher should have been immediately stripped of tenure and ran off the school grounds.
Tarred and feathered would be a preferable addition, but I would also settle for him to be set on fire.

Oldest daughter is taking French as part of her studies in International Business. I told her that when she’s taking a test and doesn’t know the answer, just write “I surrender”.
Probably the best advice under those circumstances.
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (366 during leap year) there is a live camera outside the UN Building that webcasts.
Now, if we could only get it to hook up to a Predator UAV armed with Hellfire ASWs wed be set!
Howdy all. With only a minor glitch taking place, I was able to bring my Boomershoot rifle home last night. Sorry for the crappy pic, I’ll hopefully have a better one tomorrow.
I do not have a bipod for it as I am wanting to get a benchrest for it first, so I had to use some 45ACP ammo I had sitting around. I looked at the tag from the gunsmith when I picked it up and the first date on there was the last week of September, so this rifle is five and a half months in the making.
I’ll be going to the range in a couple weeks when my ammo arrives to see if it shoots as well as it should.
Kirk at the Fun Turns To Tragedy blog just got his Nightforce scope mounted onto the Savage rifle that he is bringing to Boomershoot. You should go check it out.
And before you leave Kirk’s blog, read the post that is one up from his rifle pics.
Kirk lives in Maryland. Members of the Maryland legislature have formally introduce an proposal for an ‘Assault Weapons Ban’ into the legislature. Kirk is gathering the skinny on it.

Eason Jordan “resigns.”:http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/breaking_news/10879523.htm
(registration required)
bq. _*NEW YORK – CNN chief news executive Eason Jordan quit Friday amidst a furor over remarks he made in Switzerland last month about journalists killed by the U.S. military in Iraq.*_
bq. _*Jordan said he was quitting to avoid CNN being “unfairly tarnished” by the controversy.*_
That video must be pretty damning if he feels the need to resign *before* it is even seen. The AP article makes it sound like he was unfairly attacked – you know, like someone being outed or something.

Of course, it was necessary to prove that 98% really ain’t all that nerdy.
Having said that, I hope I never meet anyone who scores 100%……
