Monday Gun Post

On Saturday I posted a pic of my newly received Boomershoot rifle and said Id try to take some better ones.

(clic for bigger pic)

I dont know if this one is better than the first, but it is the best of the bunch I took over the weekend. Trust me, I am no where near done with taking pictures of this thing.

I would also like to thank everyone who clicked on the links to the Boomershoot site. Joe Huffman is updating the place regularly and you should keep checking back there until you feel the undeniable urge to go this May.

Now, I received more than one email asking me what I was going to name my new rifle.

I do not normally name my firearms. I just call them by what ever they are (Winchester, Bushmaster, SKS, 1911, etc).

But, I am willing to do what the people ask for. So I have decided to make this into a democratic process.

I am going to propose a couple names and by popular vote, you all are going to decide.

The word I chose for the rifle is Lightning. But as that is somewhat of a goofy thing to call an inanimate object in English, I have translated it into Hebrew and Scottish Gaeilc.

Choice 1:

Gaelic Dealan (dee-alon)

Choice 2:

Hebrew Barak

Let me know you choice by this upcoming Friday at midnight.

Also, and I knew this might happen; the rifle is too big to fit in my gun safe.

It is both too long (because if the safes low shelves) and too tall (because of the scope bell and turrets) and I had to remove three rifles out of a very packed safe to fit it in. I moved them into a spare locking gun cabinet, but they arent in the safe and Im not happy with that.

Yay! I get to go gun safe shopping! Kewl!

Of course, the Analog Wife was thinking more along the lines of me selling some of my firearms. She realized the folly of making that statement as I walked away laughing.

By Ourselves, For Ourselves Part 6

OK and Howdy Partners!

An essay late but only fifty cents short, I will now cover the topic of emergency medical care.

First, Id like to make it clear that I am not a medical specialist in any sense of the word. My training covers only the classes I have taken from the Red Cross First Aid and CPR courses and a four year old Wilderness First Aid certification.

You can take my words here as far as you like, but take the above information into account.

Second, in the comments of Part Five, there was some questioning of the treating of wounded after a natural disaster of a terrorist attack being part of individual survival.

I see the treating of wounded in an emergency as an extension of the protection of my fellow citizen, which is why I carry a sidearm for protection. Individual survival is all well and good, but I see being a Good Samaritan is being a good citizen. Your mileage may vary

Im sure that most folks would want a Samaratin on their side if things were reversed.

So, without further ado…..

Just one thing

I would like to point out just one thing to the lefties in the blogosphere.

Crow all you want about offing of Talon News Gannon/Guckert, we dont care.

Your biggest find is that he may be, gasp, a homosexual! Heaven forbid!

The Analog Wife was telling me about how the talking anus on Air America are trying to blame the Valerie Plame outing on Gannon/Guckert.

Sorry guys, no proof. But nice try. Much too convenient!

On the other side of the blogosphere, Dan Rather has had his blatant bias shown to the American people and CNNs Eason Jordan has gone down in flames.

ADVANTAGE: VRWC Bloggers

BTW lefties, bitching about losing and calling VRWC bloggers the “Son’s of McCarthy” doesnt make you look any better and actually shows off your historical ignorance.

Go ahead lefties, put that L on your foreheads now, youve earned it and it fits.

Id like to end this post with a joke, courtesy of Laurence…

Q: How many CNN executives does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A: The US military deliberately targeted that light bulb to burn out!

HaHa!

The Curse

Of Madeline Not-So-Bright.

OK, let us be fair. The fact that the North Koreans have nukes is also the curse of Jimmy Carter as well as Bill Clinton because he sent little Maddie and Jimmeh over there to give them to the Norks.

Now that the Norks have publicly admitted to possession (they admitted to possession privately over two years ago, according to former ambassador to China, James Lilley) and have pulled out of the six party talks, I am waiting for the left wing to demand that Bush meet directly with them (otherwise known as: Blackmail) which would be a disaster.

And the Dems wonder why we dont trust them on foreign policy.

Watch for a relatively quick shut down of supplies of food and fuel to the Norks around the first week of March. The Norks will feel the pinch about two weeks later and they will hopefully return to the six party talks shortly thereafter.

Hopefully.

Either way, watch for the networks to blame this all on the Bush Administration.

Vicious Circle

It is only kind of funny.

Dems in the Senate are demanding that the President call off his attack dogs who are calling Minority Leader Reed an Obstructionist.

Yet, no one is able to see the Dems slowing their attacks on anyone in the Administration.

In fact, they are only multiplying their attacks in the hopes that something sticks.

Dont you just love it when the Dems scream The President refuses to work with us on anything with things like this going on?

Basically, they are saying Take our ideas and use them or you arent working with us!

What nuance!

Good For Us

Lynne Stewart, left wing radical and terrorist supporter, is looking more and more like the virulent anti-American that folks on the right all knew her to be.

Trial evidence:

j. On or about May 19, 2000,

during a prison visit to Abdel Rahman by STEWART and YOUSRY, YOUSRY told Abdel Rahman and. STEWART about the kidnappings by the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group in the Philippines and Abu Sayyafs demand to free Abdel Rahman, to which STEWART replied, Good for them. STEWART then told Abdel Rahman that she believed he could be released from prison if the government in Egypt were changed. STEWART also told Abdel Rahman that events like the Abu Sayyaf kidnappings in the Philippines are important, although they may be futile, because it is very, very crucial that Abdel Rahman not be forgotten as a hero of the Muiahadeen (Jihad warriors).

Because the guy in charge of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, at least in the mind of Stewart, deserved to go free so that he could strike America again.

She should never see daylight again.

Found at the New Sisyphus via the Belmont Club which I found via DANEgerus.

He has converted it to a web based format here.

Go take a look. Very Cool.

Interesting

Go to the CNN website, and search it for “Eason Jordan”. Here’s what you’ll find:

jordan_cnn.gif

CNN mentioned that he was embroiled in a “controversy” at 3:45pm on Friday the 11th. They then mention that he had resigned at 10:15pm. You have to go back several months to get to the next mention of Eason.

I guess CNN isn’t embarrassed to have their head of international news resign only 7 hours after the deigned to mention that there was a controversy. If you actually follow the link to the resignation story, you find this:

jordan_cnn2.jpg

Tucked away in the Entertainment section. It’s not, you know, real news that the head of international head of CNN said that US troops targeted journalists – just something to be mentioned there along with the latest news from sweeps week. You certainly won’t find any mention of it on CNN’s front page – at least not that I can document. If anyone has a screengrab of the CNN homepage actually referring to Eason, I’d like to see it.
