Oklahoma Paricutin?

As a child I read about a Mexican farmer witnessing the birth of a volcano as a fissure in his field. The volcano grew into a mountain that enveloped his field and an awful lot of surrounding land, as mountains do.

I’ve been waiting for one of those to show up in the US. Perhaps my prayers have been answered!

Bonus: Oklahoma might end up with a ski resort. You never know!

  1. Jennifer says:

Hmm. That would explain all the earthquakes lately.

  2. Firehand says:

Day after the biggest quake somebody asked “When does the volcano show up?”, and my first thought was “Well, there are cornfields around here…”

And not unless the global cooling moves the snowline a lot further south.
