In case you missed it

Because I know I did, last week, the gun-bitgots and other folks aligned with Bloomberg’s criminal enterprise, kicked off their campaign to pass federal mandatory background checks legislation (aka: the Fix Gun Checks Act).

Yesterday, Congress began to look into how we can take some common-sense steps to curb the sales of firearms to criminals those mentally unfit for firearms ownership. The Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism held hearings on the Fix Gun Checks Act – a product of a nationwide, grassroots campaign led by Mayors Against Illegal Guns (for whom I consult) and Omar Samaha, whose sister was murdered at Virginia Tech in 2007.

The hearings, highlighted by a pilgrimage to Capitol Hill by over 50 survivors of massacres at Virginia Tech, Tucson, Columbine and other tragedies across the country, marked the first time since these terrible incidents occurred that Congress has taken the time to seriously consider how we can better keep guns out of the hands of criminals, and mentally ill individuals.

By which Bloomberg and his cronies mean YOU, since they want to include all private sales between individuals as well as inter-family transfers.

If you haven’t called your Senators and Representatives, now might be a good time to do so. They are making ad buys for commercials such as this one to try and get this passed.

My cat never eats anything but catfood and scraps we give him from the table. He occasionally claws things he’s not supposed to, though.

I saw a beagle that ate though a PVC container to get at his dogfood, and even when he gnawed the hole in it, he continued to eat the plastic: $1,000+ emergency vet bill from that…

oops, that was supposed to go on the next post on your new rifle…

Seems to me the Brady Campaign etc forgot or never knew that targeting your core market is no way to gain new market share. The ad seems perfect for someone who is already a believer or an activist…but how many average Americans are going to be motivated to reach out to 34 people (or any) based on this?
