So an F-22 has gone missing in Alaska.
Rumor has it that the pilot has no family, and had fuel for a 2100 mile range.

Kinda like Firefox, in reverse.
It’s down. Hope we had insurance.
That’s one way to cut the maintenance budget…
Hope the pilot’s ok of course, but rather unlikely or he’d have found a way to contact SAR by now.
Isn’t the F-22 what’s known as an “inherently unstable” aircraft design? In those, a CONSTANT stream of digital input is required to the flight control surfaces just to maintain the aircraft in flight, and the aircraft simply can’t fly without that data stream. The F-22 is supposed to have three ways to generate the power to run the flight control computer, but, if all those power sources were unable to power the computer, the aircraft would depart controlled flight.
Or, maybe the pilot simply flew into the ground/mountains…
Controlled flight into terrain kills a lot of Alaskan pilots.
Low vis plus mountains = bad.
