Balance the Budget In One Easy Step

Anybody else see the obvious answer?

The commission leaders said that, at present, federal revenue is fully consumed by three programs: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. “The rest of the federal government, including fighting two wars, homeland security, education, art, culture, you name it, veterans — the whole rest of the discretionary budget is being financed by China and other countries,” Simpson said.

How ’bout we just pay for those three programs, and zero out the rest, hmm?

  1. Actually, since I can’t find any of those three programs on the list in Art I, Sec 8, how about we zero them out and pay for things that are there (like the Army and Navy, border control/customs/immigration, national security, etc)

I am set to go on SS, but still think it is not the government’s business to be in the insurance, health, or charity business. Ponzi schemes one and all.
Before any one gets snide, I would gladly take a payout of what I’ve put in over the last 50 years plus the prevailing Treasury rates compounded.

I am 54, and ever since I was about 22 years old, I knew the Feds were going to screw me out of that money. Get back what you paid in? I would be happy to get back 50% and call everything even.

yeah funny how the big 3 are never on the budget cut list, or even a freeze, and keep in mind thats before our lovely ObamaCare. and none of them are things that the Feds should be doing anyways, how about we completely cut them out, i have maxed my SS input for about the last 10 years, i would be willing to write that off as a loss if it meant no more SS debt.
