A poke in the ribs

I got reminded that some folks might not know what the “re-new to me” Ruger that I posted pics of this weekend used to look like.

My bad, here you go.

Contrast and compare.

Now, this is why I dread making improvements to my individual firearms: I can’t stop there.

I’ve got a really nice and very functional Nikon 6-18×40, the one in the pic, on the rifle now.

But right now I really want to take the 8-32×50 Burris Black Diamond from Barak and put it on the .22-250. Not that a .22-250 really needs 32x, but you never know.

I think this stems from the fact that Burris has finally come out with that same scope except with Mil-Dots.

Things to ponder. Your thoughts are welcome.

Oh, and btw, would anyone have an idea of where I could find a Ruger 77 MK I bolt in .223? I’ve already got the chamber insert, but I need the bolt, for those “emergencies” when I’m out of .22-250 but there is 5.56 ammo coming in from everywhere.
