A Very Booty Christmas

Just a quick reminder that Professor John Thomas Booty is not with us this year.

His company from last year is having an especially difficult time right now.

If you have a moment while you’re out an about today, let your thoughts be with her.

In Five Years from Today

You’ll be dead.

At least that is what you believe if you’ve fallen for the Mayan Calendar mysticisms going around these days.

Personally, IF it is going to happen, I believe it will be because AlGore, having overtaken Bill Gates as the richest man on Earth because of all the dipshit greenweenies having bought “Carbon Credits” through his various companies, will blow the planet sky high in embarrassment when it is revealed that he’s been bullshitting us all for decades and the little wannabe anarchists who pose as “earth friendly and concerned” types will be storming his fortress in a volcano and demanding their money back.

The Soundboard: Christmas Tunian

And into the weekend we go!

We’re gonna start out with a traditional piece. The disc I got it from is OOP, but Amazon says it is on this sampler

The Wexford Carol – David Agnew & David Downes

Next up, we’re gonna deviate from the bagpipes and switch to fiddle and guitar

On a Cold Winter’s Day/Christmas Eve – Kevin Burke & Michael o’Dhomhnaill
Likewise, this one is OOP as well, but you can find Burke and o’Dhomhnall’s excellent music all over those samplers these days.

I’ll see if I can’t figure out where I saves my selections from Bonnie Rideout tomorrow.

I’m Dreaming

Of a green April.

A white Christmas is almost out of the question at this point and time for the Seattle/Tacoma area, sadly.

However, Joe was kind enough to post pics of the current status of the Boomershoot range earlier this week

Beautiful.

Probably very, very cold, but beautiful. And I’m pretty sure the field wouldn’t combust.

Btw, David and my shooting spots are pretty much directly in the foreground of this shot (thankee, Joe) .

It’s On

Huckabee’s Howard Dean-like collapse starts with this.

You don’t tug on Superman’s cape….

More here. Just keep scrolling….

Rush: “I have nothing against Mike Huckabee personally, other than he’s for exercise, and I’m not.”

The Soundboard: Christmas Tunian

You’ll have to give this one some time. About three and a half minutes before it gets hopping.

Once in Royal David’s City/The Elf in the Jar – The MCCallans

Trust me though, it’ll be worth it.

Things you probably didn’t know

You and I are still paying the rent for former NOLA residents currently living in Houston, TX.

But it will be coming to an end soon.

Two years, and these people can’t find jobs? Permanent rental housing? Childcare?

Great googly-moogly! There is definitely too much available on television, or something.

Shooting the Log

No, not a Yule Log. The T/C Contender affectionately known as “The Log” (the lower gun in the pic) is the gun of a Specialty Pistols member (not me) who goes by the name okiecruffler and has had a couple of barrels custom-built for his Contender by On Target Technologies The Log.jpgthat truly qualify as “Logs.” They are “stepped up,” that is, they’re the regular Contender diameter at the frame, and then much wider in diameter from that point out to the muzzle. With the forend attached one of these babies weighs 5 pounds in and of itself, without the rest of the gun! For a Contender, that’s h-e-a-v-y.

Which means little to no muzzle rise and very little rearward recoil, so much so that he’s been brave and mounted rifle scopes to his handguns.

I say “brave” because — well, watch the video and see how close the scope comes to his face.

The video gun is a custom gun in 7mm TCU, and he has the trigger set light enough to hit golf balls at 150 yards (which is what he’s doing in the video). That light trigger means The Log and the Dime.jpgthat he has to smack the action shut in order to actually cock it (given the oddities of the Contender action). You’ll see a couple failures to strike; that’s why.

Oh yeah, these are accurate barrels. Here’s a 100-yard group with his 6mm TCU “Log” — he can’t seem to hit the dime, LOL.

Stop. Read. Enjoy.

Vin Suprynowicz, Libertatian author of Send in the Waco Killers and assistant editorial page editor of the Las Vegas Review Journal, and whose name you Shotgun News readers will probably recognize, asking a very important question:

How many more will die in “gun free” zones before the media start asking why?

Stop. Read. Enjoy.

And since I also just discovered his blog, onto the roll he goes.
