A new legal fund for Sen. Ginny Burdick has taken in $5,000 in contributions to help the Portland Democrat pay her legal expenses in connection with election law violations. The fund was created under a 2007 law passed by the Oregon Legislature.Portland attorney Mark Cushing, trustee for the fund, asked lobbyists to contribute this year, noting that Burdick had more than $15,000 in attorney fees from a recent campaign-finance violation case.
Donations in the past three months included $1,000 each from the Oregon Medical Association and RPD Co. Inc. of Salem, and $750 from the Oregon State Firefighters Council.
Other donations were $500 each from lobbyist Dave Barrows, venture capitalist Debi Coleman, and the Oregon Business Association and the Oregon Optometric Public Affairs Council; and $250 from lobbyist Mark Nelson.
Burdick, who is running for re-election, agreed earlier this year to pay $3,092 in civil penalties for 11 violations of laws prohibiting the converting of campaign money to personal use.
So she gets to collect and use lobbyist contributions to cover her personal expenses, and then when found guilty of breaking the law by doing that, she gets to ask for, collect and use lobbyist contributions to pay for the lawyers who kept her out of jail.
Its like giving a drunk driver a larger, faster vehicle and free kegs.

I was driving to work last night, listening to the music radio for a change (I was tired of listening to the local leftwing stations polish Obama’s knob via the airwaves after the debate) and I heard a song that was not unfamiliar, but to which I simply could not put an artist’s name to.
I got to work a few minutes early and put my GoogleFu into the ON position.
The good news: I got my answer.
The bad news: It had a link to the video.
I laughed for nearly 10 minutes.
Then I pictured the guy as Billy Corgan and laughed for another 20 minutes.
No, I’m not going to tell you who it is. C’mon, be daring for once.
As a reward, here is some different tunage from the same era that isn’t bad at all.

Justifiable Homicides at Highest in More Than a Decade
The number of justifiable homicides committed by police and private citizens has been rising in the past two years to their highest levels in more than a decade, reflecting a shoot-first philosophy in dealing with crime, say law enforcement analysts.
The 391 killings by police that were ruled justifiable in 2007 were the most since 1994, FBI statistics show. The 254 killings by private individuals found to be self-defense were the most since 1997.
The FBI says a homicide committed by a private citizen is justified when a person is slain during the commission of a felony, such as a burglary or robbery. Police are justified, the FBI says, when felons are killed while the officer is acting in the line of duty. Rulings on these deaths are usually made by the local police agencies involved.
Some law enforcement analysts say the numbers represent changing attitudes on the streets, where police have felt more threatened by well-armed offenders, and citizens have taken greater responsibility for their own safety.
Notice how the “reporter” is portraying the justifiable homicide as always being the LEO’s or the armed citizen’s fault, you know, for wanting to stay alive and all.
Not a single sentence in this article points even a modicum of blame on the criminal who left the house that day with the single task of threatening innocent life for personal gain.

So Confederate Yankee took a little trip to a pawn shop local to him last Friday. Said shop is also an FFL.
CY found that section of the shop to be quite busy, and after a bit he asked a couple of questions to one of the employees about the larger than usual number of folks in the store. The employee answered with one simple word: Barack.
Cockpulling monkeyfucker, DaveNoon, at the insipidly left-wing LawyersGunsandMoney blog read CY’s post of that experience and, head shoulder-deep in his ass, decided to post on it.
The basic idea behind of DaveNoon’s post is that all the white people are afraid of a black President and are arming themselves to satisfy their fears of a black planet (or some such typically trite leftist bullshit).
If he had even a single braincell that wasn’t fixated on hating itself for existing, he would know that the Obama/Biden ticket is the most virulently anti-2nd Amendment Presidential ticket in this nation’s history, exceeding even FDR disdain for the ownership of firearms by the citzenry. He would also have figured out that the surge in firearms purchases has been going on since before Obama was nominated to be the candidate of the anti-2nd Amendment Party, and is only now coming to a head as the election nears.
The people in that store aren’t afraid of a black Presdent. They are afraid of fecal-odored legislation like the Clinton Scary Looking Gun and Normal Capacity Magazine Ban of 1994 being brought back to life, and that these items will no longer be available for purchase by those not associated with or employed by the Church of the Obamessiah.
Or, they are like me: I have been buying up AR type lowers as an investment. The $130 spent today could net me a cool $300 in the not too distant future. Or, if our country gets lucky enough and Obama fails to win the office or by some circumstance the Repubs hold the House and/or the Senate and the ban doesn’t go through, i still have multiple AR lowers.
Oh, whatever shall I do with all of them?

In a nutshell, the AG says “preemption means preemption”.

Not wanting to miss out on any of the blasting goodness, I set up the video camera behind and off to the side of the first four benches and left it standing there running for nearly an hour.
Upon reflection, that was not the best idea I’ve ever had, since I got about 3 minutes of usable video and fifty some minutes of range breaks, guys casing and uncasing their firearms, people sweeping brass and generally standing right in the shot of people firing.
Things to remember for next time.
I’m not going to waste time with YouTube taking an hour to load 99% of these and then kicking me off and telling me to try again, so you can easily right click and Save As for these.

Later, not too long before we left I wanted to make sure I got some good shots of the guys firing the Barrett so I moved it a bit closer in and actively attempted to try and keep folks out of the shot.

Earlier in the day, US Citizen was making sure the 100yd zero was still there, and said shots were passing through the target board and taking huge chunks out of the 200yd berm. After this was relayed to him, I suggested he paint the gun Caterpillar yellow because of all the dirt he was moving.

Getting ready to smack the plate at 957yd around a bit. He finally knocked it over about 15 minutes before we left (Correction: It was the 616yd plate Joe whacked a bit hard).
And last, but certainly not least, US Citizen’s Hyundai Class Barrett M82A1
As you can see, I had to get low to hit the barrel next to the 957yd plate.
Prior to this I helped spot US onto the barrel. Joe brought his own supply of .50cal ammo and hit the barrel 7 out of 10 times. There was something inside the barrel for weight that lit up a huge spark on his second to last hit (one of the cool things you get to see when you spot).
Personally, while I had a 50% hit ratio on the metal plate with Joe’s rifle, I missed with all three shots kindly given to me by US.
But there is always next time.
