If you read enough of this fellow’s stuff, some of it starts to make sense. Don’t pick up hitchhikers? Indeed. A rock house the best sort? Yeah, he has valid points, especially if it cost all of $60k to build. The importance of cisterns to survival? Yep. Rock-walled fortress cities for the coming unrest? Sounds good. And I’ve always enjoyed reading that old-timey patent-medicine ad sort of writing style that you find in ads for martial arts schools and the like. It always seems the author works so hard to get his point across, compared to regular uncapitalized writings. Actually, I catch myself thinking, this fellow has the syntax of a modern-day Daniel Defoe!

Then you run into this sort of thing and it wakes you up, if you hadn’t already.

But even after that dash of cold water, the site sucks me back in, and I can’t stop devouring this stuff. Are these tears running down my face from my shaking, quaking, unending stifled laughter? (“What’s so funny?” says the wife. “You’re really getting annoying over there.”) Or rather, are they tears for the EPIPHANY of TRUTH revealed in these pages? One of Tam’s commenters said it in jest, and yet, truly I do feel like a Lovecraft protagonist whose mind’s being blasted by the Amazing Secret Knowledge found in These Books. I know it’s insanity, and yet… and yet….
