Hope you have a change of pants

Because this chart, showing how much of your tax dollars are used by politicians to buy votes, should make you fill them.

Congratulations!

To UC Irvine!

They’ve won the 2009-10 “Most anti-Semitic College in California” award.

Anti-Semitic incidents are common at the University of California at Irvine, and the Muslim Student Union is the major perpetrator. Although not all the antisemitic events at UCI, detailed recently by Kenneth Marcus in Commentary magazine, can be traced to the MSU, those that can include physical and verbal harassment of Jewish students, posters of the Star of David dripping with blood, inversion of Holocaust imagery in which Jews are the new Nazis, and sponsorship of public speakers who accuse Jews of not being able to exist equally with other human beings, as well as accusations that Jews deliberately kill non-Jewish children for nefarious purposes.

For years, the UCI administration has ignored or condoned those activities.

Because the competition to see who can bow down to the largest number of loud and violent protesters is hot and heavy these days in Cali.

Make sure you read that link to the piece by Kenneth Marcus to find out what new lame excuse the UC system now has for not stopping anti-Semitic behavior.

Judson Newton, missing Bahamas boater, likely found inside shark off “Jaws Beach”

A boater who disappeared off Jaws Beach – on an island where one of the “Jaws” movies was filmed – is likely the person whose remains were found in the belly of a shark, police say.

Authorities used fingerprints to identify Judson Newton, although they are still waiting for DNA test results, Assistant Police Commissioner Hulan Hanna said late Tuesday.

It is unclear if the 43-year-old Newton was alive when he was eaten.

How big was his boat? Maybe he needed a bigger one?

Why O’Donnell Has A Better Chance

than most people may think.

Buried in the first post-primary Delaware poll is this gem. Now remember, Delaware is uber-lefty and this is Joe Biden’s state, kay?

7* Suppose the new Arizona immigration law was being considered for your state. Would you favor or oppose passage of that law in your state?

52% Favor

36% Oppose
12% Not sure

h/t: Redstate, which saw the poll but missed this tasty bit.

Marie Claire on Guns

Interview with Paxton Quigley. When you’ve cracked the Vogue/Marie Claire/WWD fashion-mag circuit, the times indeed are a-changin.’

I just think guns can prevent rape — and a lot of women do not ever get over rape.

Good stuff.

It’s a good thing I’m building up the Jeep

If these guys are right, Seattle will have the same climate as Anchorage in a couple decades.

Sunspot formation is triggered by a magnetic field, which scientists say is steadily declining. They predict that by 2016 there may be no remaining sunspots, and the sun may stay spotless for several decades. The last time the sunspots disappeared altogether was in the 17th and 18th century, and coincided with a lengthy cool period on the planet known as the Little Ice Age.

You guys in Cali wouldn’t mind getting Seattle’s climate, right?

Takin’ back the streets

Of Berlin

Young Israelis moving to Berlin in droves

Nirit Bialer, granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, welcomes listeners in Hebrew to a one-hour radio show of music, talk and interviews. The setting isn’t her native Israel but a radio station in the heart of the German capital — and hundreds of Israeli Berliners are tuning in.

The city from which Hitler unleashed the genocide of six million Jews is now attracting a small but growing community of Jews from Israel for whom it embodies freedom, tolerance, and an anything-goes spirit.

“Berlin has become a real magnet for Israelis — everybody wants to move here,” said Bialer, 32, whose Friday noon “Kol Berlin,” Hebrew for “the voice of Berlin,” started three years ago and is something of an institution for young Israelis in Berlin.

You know that’s got to be pissing off the Islamic hordes who previously moved there is droves.

I like it!

The Easy Way

Whenever tax discussions with leftists or people who just don’t know any better (but I repeat myself) take place, I frequently hear the whine about how people who pay Capital Gains are getting off easy only having to pay the 15% rate. Mostly because I bring up the fact that they should be at 0%.

I know I should just stop bringing it up, but it is just so much fun to do the math for them.

Even if this doesn’t happen to you as frequently as it does me, you should still read this quick primer on why Capital Gains taxes should be 0%.
