They Have Chosen

To be sheep.

I have been watching the leftosphere’s reaction to the “martialization” of Boston and its surrounding burbs. As you would suspect it is not at all surprising.

The lack of concern for their own civil rights, just so that they can “feel” safe, and “feel” civilized, and “feel” protected should frightening to any thinking person. That they cannot even come up with an objection to what happened is proof enough that they care more about “feelings” than about reality.

While this fellow is not one of the widely read leftosphere blogs, his post encapsulates damn near everything I have read from last week and over the weekend.

Hey, Second Amendment lunatics.  Think about this:

The entire city of Boston was under martial law the last few days.  You get that, right?  MARTIAL LAW.

In a cameras-everywhere society, we went from tragedy to identification to capture in less than five days.  And to make that happen, the full-force of the government came in, shut down a major metropolitan area, instituted a no-fly zone, flooded the place with troops and technology and locked it down until it completed it’s mission..

Think about that, screaming gun lunatic with more weapons than friends, the next time you think your 100 clip magazine and fourteen guns can protect you from a determined military.  Your “Red Dawn” fantasy is laughable.

…….

You, on the other hand, got a big lesson on just how sad and defenseless you would be if Obama – or ANY President – truly was the dictator you fear.

You wouldn’t last two days.

Enjoy your weekend, oh impotent paper tigers.

– Steve Marme

I have edited out some of his more fallacious accusations to comply with fair use, but the whole piece is available at the link.

Some folks just don’t understand that if you give the government the power to abuse you, they won’t be able to resist actually doing it (and telling you it is for your own good). Some folks will actually applaud said abuses, because they voted for the abuser.

Nail.On.Head

So, last week someone at Reuters accidentally hit the publish button and posted up their rough draft of George Soros’ obituary.

It looked like this

The left, as you might expect, went apeshit.

The guy who does everything they accuse the Koch Brothers of, and then some, except for their preferred causes,  gets an obit that doesn’t paint him as an angel and they start flapping their lips about the “right wing media”.

About Reuters.

Honestly, I can’t find anything untrue in that obit.

But then again, the left doesn’t like themselves much of the truth.

Not a War. A Feud. A Feud’s Worse.

Because it doesn’t end, and because the side with the “Feud” mindset views any member of the other side, whether man, woman, or child, as a legitimate target.

Of course that only succeeds until the side with the “War” mindset gets fed up and jettisons its sense of proportional response.

Here’s the context.

She will never understand

MSNBC twat who believes that children should be considered community property, Melissa Harris-Perry, just can’t figure out that keeping her mouth shut might make her seem more intelligent.

Speaking on her weekend show, Harris-Perry said she thought the spot had been “relatively benign,” and was surprised by the reaction it got. She assured viewers that she did not intend to steal their children from them. But she stood by her statement.

“I believe our children are not our private property,” she said. “They are not just extensions of ourselves.”

Then, Harris-Perry explained why she thought she had caused such a ruckus. She said the fight over the ad was, at its core, the same argument the left and the right have been having for centuries.

“This isn’t about me wanting to take your kids,” she said. “This is about whether we as a society, expressing our collective will through our public institutions, including our government, have a right to impinge on individual freedoms in order to advance a common good. And that is exactly the fight that we have been having for a couple hundred years.”

Ahh, the “common good” theme. She believes that her idea is reasonable enough to restrict your rights so that she can have her utopia.

The Modern Face of Feminism

You may have heard of the euro group FEMEN protesting topless outside of mosques and churches recently. It’s not all that popular in some feminist circles.

I guess some women are more equal than others (more on this later).

The People’s Business

If you listen to those in the District of Columbia, you’d think that gun control, same-sex marriage, immigration and “The Sequester” were the top issues on the minds of citizens.

Not so much really

I’m sure they’d like it to be on our minds. Then it would look like they’re accomplishing something.

However, while not everyone knows an illegal alien, a gay couple who wants to get married or someone who was murdered with a firearm, everyone knows someone who is unemployed or underemployed or is in deep financial straits.

Fire them all.

Heads Up: Incoming

I knew it was en route. Now we have confirmation.

Gun Control Advocates Look to 2014 for Initiative Campaign

Olympia – A new state gun-control advocacy group is preparing to announce a 2014 initiative campaign centered on expanded background checks, according to several leaders of the group.

The ballot measure, which would be Washington state’s first gun-related measure since a high-profile failure in 1997, would start as an initiative to the Legislature. If lawmakers did not approve the proposal next session, it would go before voters in November 2014.

All we can hope for is that enough civil rights loving folks come out to vote next year so as to drown out King County. Otherwise, we could very well be fucked.
