Looking in the Wrong Direction

While the World Left are busy comparing Bush to Hitler, someone else is quietly creating his own private “People’s Party”.

With President Putin’s popularity in sharp decline, the Kremlin has set up a new Russian youth movement to ensure its control of the streets in the event of mass anti-government protests.

Hundreds of youths, many belonging to the president’s cultural society “Walking Together”, held a meeting in a house owned by the Kremlin Property Department to launch the group at the weekend. The organisation, which leaders hope will attract 300,000 members, was christened “Nashi” [Ours], a word which in Russian has chilling nationalist overtones.

I wonder what kind of oath one has to take to join? Does one have to swear allegiance to Putin or just to ‘Mother Russia’?

The American left even went so far as to label those of us on the right “Digital Brownshirts”. I wonder what color shirts these creeps will wear?

When two outsiders one from an opposition party, the other a journalist sneaked into its founding conference, they were humiliated and one was beaten.

Quick,

Choose:

lebanon.gif

tb-susan.jpg

One expressing a real hope for freedom and democracy. Another, who has never known anything *but* freedom and democracy, expressing support for a brutal and repressive regime that would have slaughtered the first for daring to dream of something better.

Your choice.

Not as spry as I used to be

After seeing more sunlight over this last weekend than I have in a month or more, combined with only three hours of sleep on Monday and topped off with a 14 hour work day, I’m going to have to admit to being exhasted.

If the insomnia comes back and I end up staring at the celing later this morning or afternoon, I’ll pop in and toss up the links I found yesterday. But right now, my mattress is calling loudly.

I would like to take a moment to congratulate the people of Lebanon and wish them good luck in the coming months.

I would also like to tip my iced tea glass to the young people of Iran and wish them luck in having their mullahs allow a referendum. It is now the Persian people’s turn.

Have a good day folks. Be careful out there.

AK

PS: Hey Putin, only the blogosphere has the power to fire reporters.

If we caught Bush doing that, we’d impeach his ass.

Weekend of Highpower

Complete.

The breaking in of the barrel on Saturday went well. I was getting 1MOA five-shot groups from the sandbag and bench after the first twenty rounds or so.

Sorry, no pictures as of yet. I was shooting and cleaning as much as possible after I got to the range and saw they now close down two hours earlier than before, so I didnt get a chance to break out the camera. I know of someone else who was there and they should be sending the pics they took shortly.

I then went home and found out the bad news; I only had six inches of elevation left on my scope.

To get rid of Social Security as it currently exists,

“Your estimated benefits are based on current law. Congress has made changes to the law in the past and can do so at any time. The law governing benefit amounts may change because, by 2042, the payroll taxes collected will be enough to pay only about 73% of the scheduled benefits.”

If someone ever tells you that you Social Security benefits are Guaranteed feel free to smack that lying sack of bile square upside their head.

The above paragraph is printed on the back of the statement you get when the government wastes your tax money to lie to you every year and send you a letter to “inform you” as to your benefits when you retire.

Now, if you think that the person lying to you may just be ignorant, you should just show them that paragraph on the back of your next statement. If they say Oh, that is just a Karl Rove lie! or something similar, they are a Democrat and you can do whatever you feel is necessary.

When the guy asks to be abused

How can you say no?

As you may well remember, Ted I hate Bush more than Osama Rall tried to hustle David Horowitz and FrontPageMag for a quick $5K last week for using a picture of him, that he said was copyrighted, at Horowitzs new site Discover the Network that details the left wing loonies, their circles of movement and their funding sources.

If you read the account from last week, Rall got bitchslapped in a very legal sounding Piss Off! from Horowitzs lawyer, who asserted that the photo is in the public domain and that Teddy has no copyright and therefore no copyright coverage and that Discover the Network was OK to use it under the Fair Use clause.

At his own blog, Rall responds,

I don’t know if or where Manuel Klausner went to law school, but I like to rely on the ever-useful Glamour Models website for legal advice.

OMG! The guy is basing his pictures legal status from something he found on a modeling website and making fun of a corporate lawyer at the same time. This is going to be funny, I can tell already!

Oh, and am I going to provide a copy of my copyright registration to this jerk? Hell, no, because whether or not I have one I still own that copyright as I own the copyright to the contents of my entire website. But he’s welcome to find out, in court, whether or not I have one.

So basically, youre walking to the copyright office today to get signed up, right Theodore?

One thing he should know, however, is that I don’t bluff.

That is just about all you do, Rall. Grow up or go HST.

Please Victor, Don’t Hurt ‘Em!

Over at NRO last Friday, Victor Davis Hanson went to town dispelling the five major left wing myths.

1.”It’s America’s fault.”

2.”Americans are weak.”

3.”They (the jihadis) are supermen.”

4.”We are alone.”

5.“Why do Americans do all this to themselves?”

A definite must read for your bleary eyed Monday!

Can you say “Over Reaction?”

I knew you could.

Over at the Klueless Kos Klan, I found this story that they had linked to describing a “Men’s Night Out” church function that was themed “Honoring the US Military”.

It was attended by a guy who purports to be on the right side of things, but if you read through the post, there are a number of leftwing buzzwords that lead me to doubt this. I guess I’ll just have to take the guy at his word and not dispute it further.

Here’s the run-down of “The Big Deal”; a Baptist church building and a program set up my church members, supposedly active duty military personnel, some in uniform including Staff Sgt. Jeff Struecker (whom you may remember from a certain action in Mogudishu, Somailia involving a Blackhawk UH-60) talking about a certain deity, and recruitment literature sitting on a table unattended.

Umm, so what exactly is the problem?
