As a Sherlock Holmes fanatic, I’ve always wanted one. This even though like many Sherlockians (and even Holmesians across the pond) I had no idea what it was for most of my life.

    I love the portion of the wikipedia article that sort of casually mentions offhand that they were usually wrapped in wicker or wire because they tended to explode.

    I’ve had Sodastream since last summer and love it. I put about $200 into it initially, with extra bottles at $15/pair and lots of flavors of syrup, so I’m not at the break-even point, but I’m sold on the individuality of it all. You make the pop as you need it, as much or as little. I find it doesn’t store well after making it.

    It will give you back some room in your fridge.
