Tilt-Shift Photography

Via Roberta X. I have been wondering what mechanism they were using for the opening scenes of London in Sherlock.

Funny you should mention the opening for Sherlock — I love the way they used tilt-shift to imply that’s how Homes sees the city, a lovely, predictable…toy.

It’s a very neat technique. I wish I had time to play with it.

Heh. As a perhaps-Sherlockian “high-functioning sociopath” since I was very small… that can be a very useful way to look at things. Tends to reinforce one’s misanthropy, though, so you’ve gotta watch it.
