Boomershoot Cigars

Ohhhh man, look what just arrived, courtesy of cigar aficionado and blogger Jim of the sunken sloop New Dawn:

That’s two boxes of “Red Label” Maduros and Silver Labeled “Manny Specials.” Jim sez: “…all their cigars are hand rolled, right here in League City, TX. All from Cuban seed leaves, from throughout the Carribean/Central American basin. Having been a cigar enthusiast for over 23 years now, I can vouch for these being among some of the finest cigars I’ve ever had the pleasure to enjoy. The quality control is INSANE….have never had one burn bad in over three years of patronage.”

I expect one or two of these will be accompanying me to Boomershoot and be enjoyed on the firing line. I am a cigar newbie, relatively speaking, and always excited to try out more experienced folks’ favorites. Thanks, Jim!

The Cap’n knows his ‘gars. Last time I was down his way, we visited a cigar room in Galveston that was most pleasant, and the Royal Jamacia #2 he bought for me there was superb, a far cry from the Wolf Bros. Rum-Soaked Crooks of my yute…

BTW, you DO NOT want to get into a revolver match with him….he will fire 6-x, smoke a Churchill, reload and fire 6 more X before you’ve shucked your first cylinder-load. It seemed that way, anyhow…

Way back when, Cap’n Jim sent me a batch of cigars, including one from Cuban Crafters that was the best cigar I’d ever had. I’m still indebted to him for that. Don’t know if my wife feels the same way, as I pretty much immediately went out and spent more money on cigars, but still…..

Thank’ya guys, for all the kind mentions. Highly appreciated, I assure you!

Now then, might I hope for an update to this post, with a smoker’s review of the cigars at hand? Given that it’s raining here, and will continue to rain throughout the day, my workday is pretty much kaput, so I’m going to drive up to El Cubano, and relax there with some Cuban coffee and a fine seegar.

Oh yeah, and their website is up and running. Y’all feel free to make an order from them to top off your own humidors. Damn sure you won’t regret it!
