  1. At Philmont you carried a stick with you into the out houses. The why was much along the same here. Beat and scare the spiders away from the hole so they won’t bite you on the ass.

That place definitely needs an exterminator though. Holy hell.

At Philmont I just show’d ’em my merit badges. They ran like hell.

Yes, you ARE an attorney, and no, you DON’T give advice, but maybe you’ll take some.

On Vacation from snowy Vienna I got bit on the shin by a brown recluse in Barcelona in 1978. The US. consulate was useless for a long-hair tramp, but they gave directions to the Free Clinic. Dr. said there’s nothing he could do – it’s an enzyme reaction, but I went and got antibiotics anyhow. The center of my shin turned black and dead (I dug out the necrosis with an xacto knife) and my leg swole-up until you couldn’t see my ankle-bones and my hip was a size bigger. Had to buy a pair of shoes in two different sizes (shoes are cheap in Spain), and threw one wrong-size shoe away. Blue, pink, yellow lines of veins stood-out. Took about a month to completely return to normal.
Nasty little creature – I hate spiders for a reason.
