I’ve said before why I think CCW insurance is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Lots of cities and states out there aren’t gun-friendly; California’s CCW regime is opening up as we speak, county by county, and so there’s a good market for this insurance.
But what about gun-friendly states? Arizona’s about as gun-friendly a state as you can imagine, right?
Even there, you can be prosecuted for a justified self-defense shooting.
In this case the Armed Citizens’ Legal Defense Network stepped in, and the shooter was lucky to have a couple of good public defenders. Both of those things are extremely unlikely to happen to you. Also note that ACLD only has a war chest of $65k or so. I’m a cautious guy; I’d rather have a $250k policy backing me up, for less than the cost of a handgun.
