The “new” man with the plan
I come in peace. I didn’t bring artillery. But I’m pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you fuck with me, I’ll kill you all.
There is some flak here and here about how the newest leader of the U.S. Central Command has described shooting the enemy as “fun”. I’m wondering how many Marines those folks actually know. The man has solid reasoning behind his statement.
I like this one too:
“You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn’t wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain’t got no manhood left anyway. So it’s a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them. Actually, it’s a lot of fun to fight. You know, it’s a hell of a hoot. It’s fun to shoot some people. I’ll be right upfront with you, I like brawling.”
What’s the problem? Some liberal pansy was offended? Stay out of the way and we’ll do the fighting over there instead of here.

That’s exactly the attitude I want in a combat commander, and that kind of bluntness is why I preferred the company of Marines over many of my fellow blue-suiters.
Mattis is an awe inspiring man and officer, and general officer. I would that he were Afghan commander and Petraeus were still CINCCENT. I know David Petraeus has the brains and balls for a theatre wide campaign using all available Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine assets in the upcoming battle with Iran. Mattis is an unknown quantity in that regard, although he is a known brilliant tactician and tactical strategist, he’s just never run anything quite that big yet.
I just think Mattic makes a better Patton to Patraeus’ Eisenhower than visa versa…
At any rate, a wonderful combination team for killing Jihadists!!!
I’m reminded of the line from a comedian a few years back: “Some people just look better dead.”
