Now why would they need that……?

The “most open and transparent government, ever” just got another new FOIA proof agency.

Under a little-noticed provision of the recently passed financial-reform legislation, the Securities and Exchange Commission no longer has to comply with virtually all requests for information releases from the public, including those filed under the Freedom of Information Act.

The law, signed last week by President Obama, exempts the SEC from disclosing records or information derived from “surveillance, risk assessments, or other regulatory and oversight activities.” Given that the SEC is a regulatory body, the provision covers almost every action by the agency, lawyers say. Congress and federal agencies can request information, but the public cannot.

This is what we get when the public puts up with lawmakers who pass laws before reading them.

I’m guessing that this was the only section of the bill they did read.

    This is not accidental.

How many more nuggets of information like this will we have to have before deciding that the entire motivation for this Administration and the Majority in Congress is to establish themselves and their party as a dictatorial junta?

I also heard that Nobama might be considering the use of Executive Orders to grant amnesty to all the illegals in the country. In MY book, that will DEFINITELY make him Dictator Obama, not President Obama.

As Dictator Obama, he would be a legitimate target for removal from office.

This would have never stood had Shrub been in office at the time. Imagine the wailing, the gnashing of teeth, the predictions of dictatorial armageddon!
I am considering writing Babs, Di, Waxy and whatever other reps I can think of to ask them why make this law and give power to someone like Bush?
That last may be the only thing that can make them reconsider what they have done. I know, a longshot, but it must be attempted.
