Dress Shoes for WTSHTF

We’ve had a few earthquakes in the last few days, strong enough to be noticeable in my office. As many of you know, I’m an attorney and although I stopped wearing a sport coat or tie long ago (this is California, after all) I still wear dress shirt, slacks and dress shoes every day. And most dress shoes aren’t what you’d want to be wearing if you had to dig yourself out of rubble or hike home after an earthquake.

However, these are:

Steel-toed, crushproof to super-mega-pounds of force against the toe, electrically resistant, and comfy! They have an understated wingtip pattern, and a nice thick sole with aggressive treads, but don’t look out of place in the office. I like them so much I’m ditching all of my other dress shoes. (The only thing that could make them better would be if they were waterproof, but then I always keep a pair of Gore-Tex oversocks handy for just such an emergency.)

I’ve been told that the most important thing you can bring with you to SHOT Show is a comfortable pair of shoes. These shoes were my Christmas gift, and they’ll be on my feet at SHOT.

    Have fun at SHOT!
Things have been rockin’ and rolling lately – just heard there was a 5.6 off Eureka this afternoon – about a half hour ago:

I’m just glad I wasn’t in the shower when it went by.

  2. You must have felt the Milpitas ones earlier this week, right?

Oh yeh, both of them. Just glad I wasn’t in the shower!
