Boomershoot Picture of the Day

You get a bunch of Boomershoot Pics at once today, because I missed a day or two being sick and dealing with some other stuff.

Bonnie of Squeaky Wheel Seeks Grease blog is going to be using my old bench, so I thought some pics of it would be appropriate.
It’s a custom design I came up with myself — basically a piece of wood cut with an angle for a left-handed shooter, long enough to hold a Caldwell Lead Sled as the rifle rest, and then bolted to a set of screwed-together iron pipe legs and “feet” for utter solidity. You can stand on this bench!
Of course, the legs from this bench are currently on the Boomershoot Shooting Desk, so I’ll have to head down to the local hardware store for some replacement parts. Neat thing, since Squeaky’s right-handed and I’m not, is that the benchtop just flips to become right-handed, and I’ll bolt the legs in from the other side.
Also, the last few years have taught me that I need to bring lots of extra leg segments in various lengths. Last year the slope was so bad for the Shooting Desk that I ended up having to kneel behind it. I’m intending to sit in a chair this year, thank you. So extra iron pipe is on the shopping list.

You could have won the Bay Bridge contract with that bench as a model. 🙂

that bench is some piece of work. I’ve been looking for something, that would be easy to assemble and disassemble may be now, I will just build myself one. Thanks for sharing the details.
