Glovebox Contents

A compact set of handy items sits in the glovebox of each of our cars. Can you guess what everything is?

Psych! Remember, I’m in Kalifornia where it’s illegal to have firearms in your glovebox….

  1. I, too, am a citizen of The People’s Republic of California. I keep my Glock in my trunk (inside a locked, tethered gun box) and the two clips in the car in the center console (not the glove box where the clips may be seen while foraging for registration/insurance if pulled over for a ticket).

Obviously, not as good as being able to have a loaded weapon close at hand, but it beats a blank…

2aa light, barska binoculars, magnesium firestarter block, screwdriver, and three little baggies that should contain in some order:

    first aid kit
    multi-tool
    a map or 2

…but you blew the suprise by linking to your flickr with the solution in the following frame.

    No multitool? no respect.

Good point. The multitools and first aid kit are in the emergency kit “Grab-&-Go” bags that hang behind the seats. More on those in a bit. I like the DeLorme map books; each car has a pair (one each for Northern and Southern Cali) in the seatback pockets.

Why, oh, why do they make gloveboxes so darned small? Oh, yeah, they were originally for things the size of gloves.
