Check out these astonishing silent drill teams. Your jaw will drop:
Just damn! The thought of anybody doing that with something as unwieldy and heavy as an M-1 Garand boggles the mind — and then to add fixed bayonets !!!

God, why am I always standing in defense of my service?
Coast Guard Silent Drill Team
Unfortunately, I can’t find any videos on Youtube that feature Ol’ Coast Guard.
US Army uses M1903A3’s bro. And I believe that they use the ’03A3 for funeral details as well. There’s something about a bolt action when the team leader barks out “READY!” clickCLACKCLACKclick
I wish I had a few for the details down here.
Sorry Dave, didn’t know. But they’re still DARN heavy for that sort of acrobatics.
Ahab, thanks for that. One of my buddies from high school went directly into the Coast Guard and was able to be commissioned as a LT pretty quickly (I guess a lot more quickly than if he’d been in the other services). He got a big kick out of walking around the Oregon State University campus in uniform because all the older ROTC guys had to salute him.
Ain’t nuthin. I screwed up and mis-attributed this post to Phil on my blog at first. Got that fixed now.
You think I would recognize a post by a guy who shares my same first name…….
Speaking of the Coasties, I might just be joining their ranks around May of next year, if the Army keeps fucking around on me.
