…in more ways than one. I’d planned to hit the range today and tomorrow to verify zeros on the Weatherby and Sako rifles I’ll be taking to Boomershoot, but we actually have some weather down here in the Bay Area, and somehow in the last twenty years I’ve turned into a weather wimp. It’s raining here, so no range for me today! Sunny tomorrow though, so I should have a range report early next week.
I picked up some of the remaining gear for Boomershoot. Three of these bouncy Sniper Training Cubes should arrive next week. I got one each in red, yellow and blue because I really have no idea what color will show up best on a grassy hillside. They’re pricey, but I saved up for ’em. I want to be sure of my zeros because once we put them out next to the steel at Gene Econ’s clinic, it will be mighty embarrassing if Phil and I can’t make them bounce.
Tomorrow or next weekend I plan on assembling the Gazebo I’d planned on bringing last year, as well as scraping the last of the rust off of my bench and getting it back in shape. And next weekend I’ll be checking zeros on the specialty pistols that I’m taking this year. So there’s a lot to do.
Oh, yeah, there’s something about filing taxes…? Gotta fit that in somewhere.
The ultimate reactive target for handguns needs to be lighter in weight, I suppose. While cubes are great, may I suggest the next best thing, which also offers the advantages of being inexpensive, biodergadable, available in many colors, and in many animal shapes?
That’s right – I’m talking about PEEPS.
