And so we’ll continue one with the second of three quotes exposing the abject silliness of full-auto weapons that we started yesterday.
They only turn money into noise.
Clint Smith – Founder/Director of Thunder Ranch
Discounting that you may be able to put a suppressor onto some FA guns, just remember that quote and then remember that FA firearms are really loud.
Also notice that most of the full-auto military weapons available are operated, as a default, in the burst-option mode, so full-on battle-rattle isn’t the primary means of using one.
The M-14 could be operated full auto, but was almost useless doing it because of weapon instability and rapid heat buildup.
Full auto per se doesn’t scare me if I’m taking the field in battle, trained people shooting at me with great accuracy scare me.
Mr. Smith obviously isn’t thinking in terms of fire and maneuver and suppressive fires, is he?
Remember, the militia is traditionally light infantry. MGs are quite useful for suppressive fires.
Mr. Smith’s quote fits Politicans better than fully automatic weapons, in my mind.
